Great for iOS
Works great on iOS but does sometimes disconnect. Maybe 15 seconds out of every ten hours gaming. Works well for Apple TV and I assume mac but really depends on game developer support. For example, Call of Duty Mobile works well but the Stranger Things game by Netflix has mapped the incorrect buttons so it refers to Y, X, A, and B buttons as RT, LT, B, A. Now that I think of it, Call of Duty also supports 99% but loading screens and popups do not have any way to clear with the controller. You still end up having to keep the screen close by. This is only ever a problem when I stream over wifi to my tv for full console like gaming. The only real gripe I have is the iPhone accessory is very hard to put in place, hard to remove, doesnt like to stay in place and can get the wobbles. Enough so that I had to disable the “Back Tap” feature of my phone because smashing the trigger would activate the flashlight or screen zoom with the wobbleness. All in all, worth the price and with the right game can make your mobile device, smart tv, and computer feel much closer to a console.

Refurb Quality Control Non-Existent (3 Controllers Bought – All 3 Malfunction)
The Nimbus+ Steel Series Controller is a good, responsive, and comfortable controller for all ages. I imagine a new one works flawlessly. However, I purchased three “refurbished controllers” from this vendor thinking each time there is no way the controller would malfunction because how can you make a profit if you sell a malfunctioning product.Controller Purchase #1 – Purchased and worked without issue for about a month. After a month, the left joystick seemed to get stuck in a set position making my character walk to the left without even touching the controller. Amazon referred to the vender about their warranty, the vendor was supposed to get back to me within 2-3 business days (it has been 5+ business days now with no response).Controller Purchase #2 – Purchased and worked without issue also for a month. This controller then also experienced the joystick issue where it would get stuck pointing a certain direction. However, the “sticking” of the joystick on this controller seemed intermittent, so I have just resigned myself to living with it (with period bouts of frustration).Controller Purchase #3 – Purchased and working without issue for 1 day. The next day, the power indicating LEDs would not turn on, so I plugged it into the wall using an Apple wall charger and Apple charging cable (reliable charging setup), and the controller would not charge. I tried different outlets, charging blocks, and cords, and still no charge. So I had a dead controller in under 48 hours of receipt.I have not even dropped any of these controllers, used unusual force during gameplay, spiked them into the ground, used them as boomerangs, or played kickball with them. Just normal use.Conclusion: Do yourself a favor and do NOT buy this refurbished controller. Buy a new one because the odds are high your controller will malfunction, which for many games, makes the controller worthless.

I got this to play games on my iPhone. It works well with all my apple products as one would expect. I’ve used it on my Mac (M2 MB-Pro), Apple TV, iPhone 15 Max Pro, and my iPad Pro. The minor downside is that it is really designed for Apple products to work like an apple product and not a ‘universal’ product. For example even though it works with my Mac, it is not compatible with Steam.

WORKS GREAT SO FAR!
Only issue I have with this model is that the Thunderbolt connection to recharge has a recessed plug and my magnetic adapters do not fit, so i still have to use the old thunderbolt cable… I have all magnetic cables in my game room to charge devices so the kids don’t break them. Plus the Left CROSS control pad has way less play when you press up or down or left or right, compared to the previous version. I have both at the moment to play Apple TV games. the old version does fit the magnetic adapter perfectly.

Great Controller With Apple Arcade
Iâm really excited about this product and so currently REVISING MY REVIEW. The controller has a nice heft and design, pairs well with Biuetooth, especially with iPhone. I initially had trouble using it with my MacBook 12 in but after reading Steel Series company FAQs and finding their email address their prompt tech support guided me through resetting the controller by powering up and pressing the home button for 5 secs. From there I remedied a previously failed update download by uninstalling and reinstalling the update and all good! Works wirelessly over Bluetooth with both iPhone and MacBook (especially important with a single USBC Mac). Keep in mind your MacBook requires updating to the latest Big Sur OS to use Apple Arcade, but Steel Series 4 month trial offer makes trying new games out easy and convenient, even with an old iPhone 6S. Be aware that you need to be set up and be logged into your Steel Series Engine account for the MacBook to pair smoothly. I also used a previously offered Amazon discount coupon for purchase. The device also might work with many controller enabled non Apple Arcade games. Very nice device for fun casual gaming!

I’m not sure what all the negative 1 Star reviews are about. If you are committed to Apple certified products, software, and hardware you’ll understand my review. I purchased two Nimbus+ controllers and they work PERFECTLY. As instructed I updated the controller(s) Firmware (via lighting USB) using the Nimbus Engine that I downloaded to my MacBook Pro. Simple, easy, and only took a few minutes. I then paired the controllers to my AppleTV. They worked flawlessly for the Apple Arcade games that I, and my grandchildren, play. I highly recommend these controllers to those who want ease of use and full integration with Apple hardware and software. My grandkids love the controllers and they are veteran gamers. They love that they can pair and mount their iPhones on the controller and play anywhere anytime. These controllers make multiplayer games super easy to play and use. 50 hour battery life and quick lighting USB charging. You can’t beat that! By the way, previously we bought and tried 2 so called tvOS compatible X-Box controllers. Although they paired with the AppleTV, they would not function in the arcade games.

I earlier bought a Gamesir T4 Pro controller to play games on Apple Arcade. I didnât like the toggle response so I bought a Nimbus wireless gaming controller which is recommended by Apple and it worked like a charm. Itâs on the pricier products but it works.Update: claiming 50 hours of battery life but not getting that much.
