Shelby Oliver –
3 day review, what I think so far.
Despite only having the microphone for only 3 days as of the time of writing this, I am quite pleased with it. When I first opened the box, I was greeted with the instructions, a very good feeling XLR cable, a USB to USB-C cable, and the mic itself. Upon removing the mic from the box, I immediately liked how heavy and solid it felt (kind of reminds me of the display test SM7B at Guitar Center). Another thing I liked was the quality of the packaging, the mic comes in a well-constructed cardboard box with dense foam to protect the items within the box. The cables come Individually wrapped in nice plastic bags (the silky feeling ones that good mid-tier products come in). In terms of sound quality, when using USB-C the mic sound is fairly good and very clean and could very easily be used as is (I will say that is does pick up some background noise depending on how loud the noise is. If it is close enough it will pick up something like a keyboard, so I do recommend if you use it for streaming on PC to use a noise gate or whatever). In XLR I am going to assume the quality of sound will vary depending on what mixer you are using so I am not going to comment on how it sounds other than if you are going to use it with the Fifine SC3 mixer the sound in my opinion sounds ok, but that is due to the SC3 not having much in the way of tuning. Is it the best mic on earth? No probably not anywhere close. Do I think it would be a good beginner mic for someone wanting to start doing content creation? Yes I do and I do believe that it is worth every cent but that is my opinion and I would recommend doing research before going and buying a microphone just to see what you would think would suit you and your needs and tastes best.

Good quality microphone.
This is a well made professional microphone. It is heavy and sounds very nice. I am very happy with my purchase
MM Dander –
Nice sound, but NOT noise canceling.
Nice mic and good sound for the money, but if you’re buying for noise cancellation, then it’s a hard pass and not recommended. I tried with a vacuum running two rooms over so that the volume was not loud but audible enough and should definitely have been canceled, but it wasn’t. I didn’t notice any difference between what I was hearing and in my recording. I also had someone speaking at regular volume outside of the room, and it picked it up clearly and did not cancel it out. I’m not sure it has any noise canceling whatsoever.

Def recommend you buy

Not great but updated review here now working great. Thank you Tonor.
The controls didnât work. Tonor reached out to me sent a replacement microphone which works great. Thank you Tonor for reaching out to me. I have been very happy with this mic and plan to use it now as my primary mic. Not too often you get such good customer support but Tonor is to be recognized for their support. Thanks again. If you want a great inexpensive mic here it is.

I’m very impressed!
I planned to buy several mic’s on the basis of, if I did not like one, I would return it to Amazon and buy another, until I found a mic that I liked. My previous mic, KTX, started to die on me. I ordered the Tonor mic from Amazon, and I am really impressed, so far. It is very sensitive, has a solid build, good volume output, excellent sound quality, all at a great price. The noise cancellation filter I’m using cuts out the noise of the aircon, while keeping everything else clear. I’m using the XLR cable through the Zoom Podtrack P8 as my setup. I so happy that I found a good mic and don’t have to look for another.

A very powerful microphone.
I am so impressed by the quality of this mic. Gonna admit i struggled a bit when viewing multiple reviews even on YouTube, stating it’s not that good. I gave it a try, and I blew my mind. I designated this mic for vocals (music, voice off, voice casting for dialogs for animation). I am using it with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen. ¡I definitely recommend this microphone! ¡Even the raw recording sounds so good!

I’ve tested several dynamic microphones priced under $100 CAD (listed down below), and this one stood out as the best. My specific requirement was a microphone offering both XLR and USB connections, and this model fit the bill perfectly. I primarily use it for podcasting, streaming, vocals, and the sound rejection, especially in USB mode, is impressive. Admittedly, it does have a somewhat dark sound profile, but considering most users apply EQ, compression, noise gates, or other post processing to their recordings. Some individuals prefer a frequency range between 80Hz and 14kHz, which this microphone may not align with entirely (this is 50Hz-14KHz).However, what it does deliver is a warm, dark, yet clear and clean sound. This suits my needs well, as I enhanced bass in my voice to achieve a richer, more broadcast-like sound. Additionally, the headphone jack offers zero latency, a significant advantage. However, during my testing, I noticed that you can only monitor your voice, not other applications (but that’s just me and my many audio interfaces getting messed up). Additionally, the headphone volume adjustment appears to be not work.In terms of build, it’s remarkably solid compared to plastic microphones within the same price range. It seems capable of withstanding accidental drops, although don’t attempt that and handle it with care. Switching to XLR mode retains the same tonal quality but compromises background sound rejection compared to USB mode, but nothing too bad. Nevertheless, this is a negligible concern since most users apply a noise gate.I appreciate that it comes with both a USB-C and XLR cord. The included pop filter suffices, but I opted for a third-party one (such as the SM7B pop filter) due to the enhanced plosive reduction achieved with the added 1.5-inch gap, but its not needed.A significant advantage is the plug-and-play functionality, making it extremely convenient for on-the-go podcast recording, especially in academic settings like universities, without the need for additional equipment like a cloud lifter, audio interface, or phantom power. All in all, this dynamic microphone offers a fantastic solution for podcasting, streaming, and voice recording needs, providing both USB and XLR connections.I currently have:Electro Voice RE20Shure SM7BBehringer SL 75CMirfak N2Audio-Technica AT875RNEEWER CM28Tried:Moman EM1ZingYou ZY-007ZingYou ZY-UD1Neewer NW-1500Neewer NW-35Tonor TC30Maono PM471TSMaono PD100Fduce SL40MXL 606MXL 770Shure SM57Behringer C-3Behringer B-5Zoom ZDM-1
