Great overall headphones
These headphones are really awesome. Sound quality is amazing and they have a strong bass. They are very comfortable and they have a 35 hour battery life. I have only two complaints. The first is that while they do fold flat they wonât completely articulate into a tight package. As a result they are a little bulky to travel with. Also you do lose bass when you turn the ANC on. I was originally going to leave a 4 star review for this reason but then I compared them to my friendâs Bose q35. With ANC on the sound quality was pretty similar but when you turn the ANC off these headphones actually have better bass, noticeably better. The fact that these headphones have better sound quality than headphones which are over 4 times the cost makes them a five star product.Updated:My first set of Z2’s started cutting out in the left ear cup. This gave me an opportunity to test the lifetime warranty. It took about 4 weeks from when I first noticed the issue to getting my new headphones. I’m satisfied with the customer service and I didn’t have to pay more money for new ones. It seems that these guys stand behind their products.I’ve now had these headphones for several months and some of my opinions on them have changed. The best feature of these headphones is the sound quality. You get a balanced sound with amazing bass. They honestly sound better than several of my friend’s headphones which cost more than three times as much. If you want amazing sound quality but you are on a budget, Z2’s all the way. The ANC does work but it really leaves something to be desired. I’ve tested these in my car on road trips and it works okay but more expensive headphones such as the Bose QC35 will perform better when it comes to ANC. I have not yet tested these on a plane so we will see if that changes my opinion. Also the “hiss” other reviewers have mentioned about the ANC is present but it is very moderate and you really only notice it in quiet settings. Usually when I am in a quiet setting with these headphones I leave the ANC off anyway because the bass will perform better when the ANC is off.I’m still leaving my 5 star rating because these headphones still perform so amazingly well. My criticisms of the ANC are being made compared to 350$ headphones which still makes these a great deal. Also I have no been able to test their customer service and I am satisfied.

Update, July-25-2023 (started using February 2022):Still going strong! I love these headphones. Amazing battery life has maintained. All materials have held up, even the soft fake leather on the ears. I could have never imagined the value I’ve gotten out of these. I sweat A LOT. I listen over an hour each session 4-5 times a week at the gym. I charge them like once a month, its insane, but they’ve never actually depleted power on me. I’m not a paid sponsor. I just got lucky and took a chance on these guys. If these headphones ever actually die or fall apart I’m going to repurchase.Original Review, circa July 2022:I’ve had these headphones for just over 5 months now, about 22 weeks. My gym has an app with check-in history. In that time span, I’ve gone to the gym 74 times. Each visit is between 1 and 2 hours. So it’s a pretty big sample size.First of all, the battery life is extremely impressive. Key Note, make sure you turn OFF the ANC. Even when the headphones are off, if the ANC is in the On position, it will drastically drain the battery life. Learned that the hard way and won’t forget again. For me personally, I don’t use the ANC. I feel the music sound quality is slightly bassier and fuller without it on. At least in the gym. However, when I went on an airplane earlier this year, I used the ANC during the flight, and it canceled out the engine hum. Very cool.The headphones connect without an app, which I like. They simply pair to your phone’s bluetooth. It hasn’t failed to connect automatically since I first paired it. It also has never dropped my connection. I can leave my phone at my setup and walk 30-50 feet away to get water, with no issues. My iphone gives me a battery level icon on the top bar whenever I turn them on and connect. I don’t think the meter has ever dropped below 50% at least that I’ve noticed. I only charge them once a week at work, just to be safe and make sure I never run out at the gym. Honestly though, I don’t even need to that often. At the current rate, the battery would easily last 2 weeks, even with daily gym use (1-2 hours per day). I find that very impressive, and very convenient to not have to charge them regularly. That does not include any other use, these are strictly my gym headphones.COMFORT, they are light and comfy to wear. The ears are soft. They do not aggravate my ears or the top of my head, even on my longer gym sessions. They adjust and swivel to fit whatever you need. They are not tight, they do not squeeze your head. They cover my entire ears nicely. They stay put when i lay back to bench. I’ve also jogged with them. They may move slightly but they won’t fall off unless you’re doing very aggressive movements.They are indeed WATERPROOF. 74 sessions and counting. I sweat a lot. I always wear a hat too, but my hair and ears are right up against it.My wife has Beats and I was on the fence about getting them. I always preferred the in-ear buds for the gym for a low profile and to keep them secure. I had a pair of wrap around the neck in-ear wireless I really liked. But I kept losing them out of my pocket, they would fall out when i got in the car, etc. And the battery life was pretty lousy. 2-4 sessions max. They would often die during the workout. So i decided I would try the big bulky over ear headphones. I admit these do look a little big. But I’ve gotten used to them and i dont mind the appearance. I don’t even know if beats are technically waterproof or resistant, or any at all? Do they warranty gym use? Anyway, i just happened to keep seeing these Z2’s, they were sponsored and kept popping up during my search for headphones. I just couldnt pull the trigger on beats for some reason. I didnt trust they would be truly waterproof, and risk the cost of $150-200 or more. So i kept looking at these, reading reviews.I think they priced them right, because the regular gym go-er like me, is looking for more than the knock-off $20-40 headphone, that we all know is going to fail sooner than later. And have plenty of issues in the meantime. Yet, with our almost daily abuse to them, not willing to spend hundreds of dollars to have them potentially fail. They seem to be on sale in the $70-90 range. I figured they are pretty well made at that price point. And just without the name recognition they know they can’t get away with charging $150-200 dollars. I was more willing to take a chance on $80 that $200. I’m so glad I did.Sound quality is par for the course. 7/10. I dont care, these are gym headphones. Better than expected. They get plenty loud if need them too. The ANC works pretty well, but beware the battery drain from that.The on-ear controls are nice. 3 button controls on the right ear are easy to learn:middle button- hold to turn on/off. click to pause/resume song.top button- hold to skip song. click to increase volume.bottom button- hold to go back to previous song. click to lower volume.ANC is an On/Off toggle switch on the left ear.Don’t think I’m forgetting anything else for features or performance. The matte all-black finish makes them look all business, not flashy, not fashion-driven. Also makes them easy to wipe down. I do not see any flaws in the design. I think they are designed to perform first, look good second. Exactly what i wanted for gym headphones. And they came with a nice case. They fit right into the side pocket on my duffle bag.Bottom line, if you don’t mind bigger looking over-ear headphones at the gym: GET THEM. The comfort, light-weight, amazing battery life, and actually waterproof far exceed the drawback of having “bigger” headphones.If you’re looking for studio-quality sound, look elsewhere. They can’t compete with audiophile headphones, or probably even beats for that matter. These are made for the everyday gym goer.

Sound is alright but for 15k, the quality is horrible.The range is extremely low and sometimes the sound starts cutting out and stuttering for no reason, and then speeds up to catch up with the correct timestamp. I don’t know if I was given a defective item or the brand is usually this bad.

The build quality is good, and the earcups are definitely sweatprooof. But the main issue for me was the bluetooth which kept cutting up when i moved away of walking distance and started stuttering. ( I literally have to keep my phone in my pocket to not have issues ) which i did not face with other earphones. The volume is relatively low compared to other headsets as well. ANC is there but it’s not really there.

Not Aptx-HD like touted. I bought this after seeing pictures of previous reviews on Amazon.com showing the aptX-HD branding on the back of the box. Well seems like they have changed.. Its not even aptX-LL.. Two steps backwards in “features” from previous version.. deceived and that’s even before opening the box.. Meh.. But still going to give it a shot.Once opened, the content is nice. A hardshell carrying case with a fishnet pocket to keep your 2 wires, one usb for charging and one 3.5mm wire if you want to use it instead of bluetooth. Now let’s talk about those wires.. The usb for charging is fine. But the 3.5mm cable has in-line controls and a mic for calls. So one jack is a 2 “pins” for stereo sound and the other is a 3 “pins” for stereo and mic input. As long as you plug the 3 pins in your phone and the 2 pins in your AUX on headphone, everything is Gucci.. But if you inadvertently do the opposite, your sound is going to sound hollow and well it shouldn’t be.. Because the headphone also has a mic but it’s inactive when you plug in the in-line wire.. Of course on the wire there’s no indication about which jack goes where other than that usually the control box is usually close to your ear than to your phone. Its just my opinion but I’d rather have a better quality 3.5mm cable without the in-line controls. The one provided doesn’t have volume control so you’ll need to pull out your device for that anyways. I’m saying this because the sound with wires is pretty awesome!Now to the bluetooth sound. Its above average. I do enjoy the musicality. Its better than what I have used before. I prefer without ANC as the bass is deeper and there’s overall lots of details altho its a bit muffled (I’m spoiled with my HD600 lol). ANC probably works well when commuting but soundwise it just kills the bass ooomph and overemphasizes the highs to the point it could become painful to listen to. But since this ANC is meant to eliminate outside low frequencies, it does what it has to do. The best sound is in my opinion when using wires. In that perspective they are very decent headphones with decent versatility. I guess you get what you pay for. They are worth the price because of all the features and doing the job for all your needs but they aren’t nowhere close to being audiophile without the aptX-HD codec to use with bluetooth or you’ll need to buy a decent 3.5m wire cuz the headphones are on par with wired cans in the 100$ range.These are pictures of what’s on the box and what’s on the User’s Manual inside.. Those must be old prints.. As they still show the HD logo next to aptX..If you don’t care about geeky codec stuff, I would recommend these headphones as a one Jack-does-it-all. Above average sound, independent ANC that works even when headphones are off, wired option that gives better audio, hard case for transport, regular aptX, long battery life, solid build and nice looks.. All this for less than 100$ it’s hard to find a better bang for your buck.I compared them briefly with my friend’s Bose QC35 and they come pretty close. Z2 is warmer but isn’t as detailed. The ANC is nowhere near Bose’s quality but Z2 is also 6x cheaper. So I’d pick these headphones anytime.Let’s just hope they pass the test of time. But they have a lifetime warranty so you’re covered!
