Definitely makes mounting the Ring doorbell simpler and more stable than trying to install the base plate straight onto siding. That said the fit is not exactly flush with my siding. Looking at the photos others posted, it would seem that the exact shape of this adapter is not consistent, the most obvious difference being how it is cut at the top. One version has more of a hard angle on the top where it meets the bottom of the siding lip, while the other is more rounded. The latter version seems more flush to everything. Still a decent product but pretty clear that there is some significant variability in manufacturing.

Perfect with 4″ siding and Ring Battery Doorbell Plus
I don’t recall the description saying compatible with Ring Battery Doorbell Plus, but it works great. Bought several to mount doorbells on my house with siding. Very easy to mount.

Just what I needed
I have vinyl sliding and didn’t want to cut it to install the Ring. This worked great. It fit right over the siding and with just two screws it gave me a perfect spot to attach the Ring. Looks much nicer than if I tried to cut away the siding and fit in the Ring.
