small size. Fast read and write speeds. My previous external drive wasn’t fast enough to run modern computer games, and would cause them to crash. I’ve tried them with this product and they run fine now.

It needs a lot of power
I bought this to use as a boot disk on a raspberry pi400. Every time I plugged it into a USB3 port it crashed the computer. If I plugged it into a USB2 port, it eventually crashed it and it didn’t respond correctly. I tried it in my Intel laptop and it worked perfectly. I tried changing the cable to the SSD drive but that didn’t help. Eventually, I used my Dell Laptop USB-C power supply to power my pi400 and everything worked. I have been booting off of it and using it all day. All the capacity shows up on Ubuntu on the pi400. If you are going to use this, you might want to consider a powered USB 3.0-3.2 hub so the drive doesn’t take power from the pi.

I was very excited to get Netac 500GB Portable SSD, USB3.2 Gen2 10Gbps, Type-C PSSD, Read Speed up to 500MB/s External SSD and use it with my iPad-Pro as a file storage/easy transfer files (mostly pictures/photos) from iPad to PC.First what was kind of annoying is that itâs overheating very quickly and stops working/giving an error message, and it takes a very long time and effort to get to work it again…It is advertised as âFaster Than Fasterâ âCutting-edge Data Transferâ…In my experience itâs âso fast thatâ that doesnât have enough time to properly register files:1. âFaster Than Fasterâ : I have to repeat transferring files twice and hope that they will be saved, sometimes even that doesnât work and some files are not loaded/transferred properly.2. âCutting-edge…â : Sometimes files transferred, but cut: 2-3 pictures cut and combined together in one (basically damaged and unusable)3. Even if it looks like files transferred to Netac 500GB Portable SSD properly, some of them I still can not open on PCLastly, all folders with my files together with service folders weight 106 GB, in Z Slim disk properties it shows â108 GB free of 465 GBâ, what makes a capacity of the Netac 500GB Portable SSD (106 GB + 108 GB) 214 GB! I think this is unacceptable.Conclusion: The product is not reliable, frustrating to use, the cons are overwhelming, description is misleading (if donât use stronger words). I would not recommend to purchase it

I needed a boot drive for my Raspberry Pi 5 that was at least 100GB so I took the smallest. Not only is it fully compatible, the power draw is nice and low, it doesn’t get too warm and it hits the speed I was hoping for. Really was a bargain.
