I love the light up display you get to let the user know you have the WD Black external hard drive plugged in correctly. That is a great feature! It has fast-speed writing and transfer of data (whether intended for a computer or your video game console) and it will indefinitely store your data, and it holds up! This has never failed or crashed on meâ¦and I have had it over a year now. Been utilizing it like crazy, transferring from PS4 to PS5, interchanging, etc. No data loss or corruption! The only thing that is a little disruptive and annoying is the micro USB end is a little detachable but, that if plugged into a video game console, one little wiggle or slight pull-out-of-port place and it will have your system reading, âThis device was not disconnected properly. Will have to conduct a repair fix before you can further use this product.â Which for the PS5 is easyâ¦anything else? Wellâ¦you may have a problem. Not sure what it would require to resolve, I again have not run into that issue. But from a professional I know, this is something he said that could happen if you donât handle/have the device plugged in properly. Fair words of caution before your purchase.

Good product built well
Well built device, lights aren’t a big deal to me but they are cool and do work. WD is a good trusted brand with a good warranty. 1TB isn’t a massive amount of space but I am using this as a portable jump drive to move large files around and it does that well. I wanted a fast jump drive that was well built this hits all the marks and is backed with a good warranty. Using USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with EXFAT and it’s pretty darn fast.

Great design. Super easy to use and set up is seamless. I got it for my PS5 and it works great. Fast upload/ download speeds. Pricey but itâs definitely super sleek and sturdy, plus itâs thin enough to fit in your pocket.

Amazon like new on a deal
I got this thing on a open box deal with Amazon. I decided to pull the trigger and wow, what a great drive. It is fast on my computer that has a 3.2 gen 2×2 port and the speeds are pretty crazy. I have a Thunderbolt 4 diy enclosure that preforms better but the price would steer me away. $250 for diy and 3000MB/s or $90 for 2000MB/s

This is a phenomenal SSD. The drive is incredibly fast and portable. Its rugged design means a case is optional, and I am not concerned about having this out with kids around. I have my entire PS4 library backed up on one of these SSDs that is shorter than a pop can and almost as thin as a BIC pen. The lights are customizable and there is an option for you to turn them off. I have purchased another as a portable storage device for audio interviews and video data. Its transfer speeds make it ideal for moving large files between devices.
