- I spent 15 hours in a sleeper automobile on an Amtrak Superliner practice going from Denver to Salt Lake Metropolis.
- For $400, I stayed in a personal cabin, which had two seats in the course of the day and two bunks at evening.
- The 23-square-foot house was cozy and filled with space-saving hacks that made it really feel bigger.
Taking a sleeper practice from Denver to Salt Lake Metropolis was costlier than flying or driving — and it took lots longer. However for a locomotive fanatic like me, it was value it.
In January, I took a 15-hour journey by way of the American Southwest on Amtrak’s California Zephyr, an in a single day practice. I paid $400 to remain in a personal, enclosed 23-square-foot house with two chairs and two bunks — also referred to as a roomette.
I discovered that 23 sq. ft is loads of house for me to really feel comfy on a protracted journey. And with an environment friendly association and a design that appeared to prioritize leisure, I used to be far cozier than I’m on flights and street journeys.
