Incredible instrument! A bit of setup and tweaking, and it plays beautifully.
With the flood of reviews of low cost guitars, I’ve wanted to own one for a while. I chose this instrument for a few reasons, and I am totally excited about playing this guitar. A nice body and flawless finish. A rosewood fingerboard, and a roasted maple neck, a bone nut. Wow! Tuners are descent. Great sounding pickups, though they buzz a bit, but I’ve learned to work around this. It took a bit of setup to get it playing sweet. A truss rod and bridge adjustment helped the action. The tremolo bar was really stiff, but I made an an adjustment on the spring tension to get it right. I treated the fretboard and neck with a non-acidic oil. I changed the strings to Elixir Nanowebs. I am thrilled. It plays so sweet. Alternatively, I’ve been playing a Fender Mexican Strat, and a Fender Flame Maple Top Telecaster, but I am loving playing this. Bravo Fojill!

2024-08-28 UPDATE: This has become one of my favorite daily players. The action is amazing on this guitar and I really love it. I did a few changes that made it even better:1) Changed the tuners for some Wilkinson’s that someone gave me. The stock ones has a 12:1 ration and I wanted something a little finer. These are 18:1.2) I put a Fender Mexican Strat bridge in it. No real reason other than I wanted to see if it made a difference. Does seem to intonate better. $253) I had a Guitar Fetish P90 and Single Coil in the drawer, so I put them in. Added a $20 hot humbucker from Guitar Madness at the bridge and this really sings now. Might put another P90 in the bridge.4) Put a Treble Bleed circuit on the volume put. $1 in parts.I might buy another one of these because I like it so much.///END///——————The thing to keep in my as you read this is that I paid $95 for it delivered to my door. That includes tax and shipping, and it came via UPS, so figure that was at least $20. Take off amazon’s cut and the cost to ship it from China and I would be surprised if the manufactured grossed $50 for this instrument.CONS:– There were many scratches in the finish, perhaps from a bad buffing job. Pre-paint sanding wasn’t that great either. Even at this price point, finish should have been better. BTW, the flame maple front is just printed on and not real, as you would expect at this price.– The trem wasn’t set up to be used as you can see in the pic the claw was screwed all the way in. In any case best just to block these cheap trems off and don’t even try to use them.– My fingers were black first time I played it. The pic with the blackened white tissues is what it took to get all the gunk off the frets and fretboard. Not sure what it was, but it took 4 passes to get it all.PROS:– Setup out of the box was decent. Just had to adjust intonation on a few strings.– Includes a very basic gig bag. Will keep the dust off it when stowed, but consider that guitars costing 10 times as much don’t often include a bag.– In general, all of the hardware is inexpensive, as you would expect at this price point. But, everything seems good enough to do the job.– The neck is the best part of the guitar. We’ll assume that it is what they say; roasted maple neck and rosewood fretboard. 2nd fret was quite high, but others seem ok. Somewhat sharp fret ends, but overall a decent fret job. Another person thinks the nut is bone. There were a few minor blems on the back side.– The tuners are smooth and hold tuning well.– The pickups are the big surprise. They sound amazing and I am impressed. I have no plans to change them out.SUMMARY:At the price, it is a surprisingly decent guitar. If you’re a beginner and just want the cheapest possible entry. this may work for you. However, these days there are so many really decent guitars in the sub $300 range, that you may want to spend a little more. Great guitar if you just want some practice working on guitars. The only changes I plan to make are a low friction string tree, new strings, and treble bleed added to the volume pot. Otherwise, it plays fine and no sense sinking money into a guitar when there are better options and you’ll never be able to recoup your money in resale.

Almost a perfect guitar.
I was recently invited to join my churchâs worship team, Iâve been playing guitar for 20+ years and currently play a seven string in drop A which wasnât exactly ideal for worship music so to Amazon I went. All I wanted was a decent, cheap guitar I could keep in standard tuning. Iâve been doing guitar set-ups for a long time so a lot of things I can âdealâ with at the end of the day and almost everything can be upgraded so I placed the order after doing some research on YouTube (this guitar is highly recommended for its price/quality). I am throughly impressed with this instrument, the roasted maple neck, rosewood fretboard, the fret and body finish etc is all insane for this price. As mentioned Iâve been doing set ups for awhile and this needed barely anything right out of the box, even the strings are perfectly fine which blew my mind. It did need a few adjustments here and there (the action was barely too high on the high side, one of the saddle screws just wasnât screwed in and fell out when I opened the package, the neck was a tad dry, pickup height needed raised a tad, all very minimal amounts) at the end of the day I was able to set the action and intonation to essentially perfect, the neck needed no adjustments, the tuners are surprisingly solid and hold tune and no dead frets so playability is amazing now in fact itâs one of my better players. Itâs not perfect though, as mentioned one of the saddle screws wasnât even screwed in upon receipt, thereâs light swirl scratches evvvverywhere particularly on the back right out of the box (I almost think this was returned), the body is a little uneven in a few spots with some rough areas in the stain, the flame maple appears to be more of a print than natural grain (but looks great) and some areas of the finish on the hardware is a little rough but when you consider the materials used, the incredible fret job itâs had, the playability at THIS price itâs hard to really fault this thing honestly. Beginners in my opinion would be well served with an instrument like this and just a bit of professional involvement, itâs playable out of the box, easily set up and doesnât immediately require a bunch of upgrades to be functional (well..more on that later). The pickups, tuners, hardware and even the strings are all somehow mostly usable, sure upgrading it would be beneficial and with these build materials would be worth doing, but itâs not entirely necessary to enjoy the instrument. Itâs also lightweight which for my old man back is a wonderful thing but will also be great for beginners getting used to the weight and itâs as easy to play standing up as it is sitting down. Even the truss rod wrench is amazing, I donât know folks but this just may be the best value for the money guitar on Amazon aside from the bridge screw issue currently, it is truly impressive for the price though. They included a strap too btw, I donât believe itâs mentioned in the listing but they included everything youâd need from a strap to tools for this guitar. Its genuinely unfortunate about that bridge saddle screw (played it tonight at church and it fell out again appears itâs stripped, Iâll likely have to replace the saddles) but itâs still a relatively easy fix for the price but not super beginner friendly with an issue like that. Still a great fixer upper kind of guitar with little to no setup needed and just some minor repairs this could be a five star instrument.
