Fun Little Flyer, Both Indoors and (Under Proper Conditions and Precautions) Outdoors
I first purchased the version of this drone that does not have a camera, and quickly desired to check out the one that did once I discovered that these pocket drones do come in “camera” varieties (I’m a sucker for gimmicky stuff like that). It handles exactly the same as the non-camera variety, which is to say perfectly reasonably for a little toy like this. The app used for recording is a bit buggy and sometimes it takes a few minutes for it to detect the camera feed on the drone, but once you get it going it works reasonably well. You connect the drone to your phone via WiFi; after powering the drone on, just go to your WiFi menu in the settings on your phone and select “4DRC…” (whatever the characters following that are), and then download the 4DRC app, hit “Play,” and it should eventually show on the screen what the drone is seeing. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for it to show up for some reason, and I find that holding the drone close/level with your phone makes it happen more quickly. There are a few things I’d like to point out, just for giggles: First, when recording video, the battery life is noticeably shorter. Which power level you choose to use when flying the drone affects this, as well (Lower power mode will give you more fly time, and higher will give less). Second, as you can see in the video I took, I was able to get it to what I’m guessing was somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 – 100 feet in the air. I’m not sure it could go any higher, as the drone started to become less responsive to my controller input at this point and the video feed on my phone as I was flying became choppier. So I’m guessing this is the maximum effective altitude you can achieve with this little guy. If you don’t have a lot of trees around where you live you might be able to get a fun view of the ole neighborhood while still being able to control the thing, but if you have to go above maybe 60 feet or so like I did then it probably isn’t a good idea because at that altitude it starts to feel like it’s gonna just yeet itself into the horizon. I almost felt my $40 of gift card money fly into the wild, white, overcast yonder at a few points. Third, the wind is also something to take into account; there was almost no wind outside when I filmed the attached clip, and even that proved problematic at points due to just how small and light the drone is, so if you plan on flying it outside then make sure there’s very little to no wind outside. None of these are criticisms of mine, as they appear to simply be par for the course with a device this small and whose target audience is people perhaps half my age, but they’re nonetheless important to point out to potential buyers.Overall, it’s a fun little toy just like it’s camera-bereft little brother. The filming/photo-taking option takes a few extra (and, at times, irritating) steps, but it’s still worthwhile if you have $40 to blow on something and you take glee in commanding a tiny quadcopter in your spare time.

    Not worth it AT ALL
This product probably cost 10$ to make in parts and labor. Not worth 40$. It should be 20$ at max. All the parts are really flimsy, the instruction manual is really small and hard to flip through considering they have 4 or so languages in there, there are so many typos in the manual as well it’s hard to understand, the directions for installation are very unclear, the charger doesn’t have a feature like most other drones to detect when it is full and stop (the manual warns you that you have to stop it yourself after an hour or it will break, thanks a ton), getting the batteries on the charger and off is impossible(make sure your fingers are strong), the app rarely actually connects to the camera and is 100mb (purely spyware lol), and lastly the package came with a bunch of scuffs inside the box and looks like it has been opened before, not to mention the poor packing arrangement. Now, onto the ACTUAL flight review. The controls are annoying and hard to get used to, the battery barely lasts long enough to get the drone off the ground, but the actual flight is enjoyable just based on how small it is.tldr; so many problems with this drone and the price, it’s probably cheaper to make your own. Don’t buy it, try some alternatives

    Our first drone
First the bad: The battery runs out fast but you can put another charged up one in when needed. My husband and daughter love this new toy! They haven’t got down the steering and handling 100%, but there are a lot of buttons. And I like how the remote holds the drone folded up and keeps it found when you’re not using it and protected. It’s pretty small, your best bet is to launch on a blacktop somewhere or flat surface, NOT grass. That’s how small this is, but I think that’s exactly why this new toy doesn’t annoy me and my neighbors. If you’re on the fence about should I really get my kid a stupid drone this would be a good one to get. Not very loud or big to annoy, just minus one star for battery life

    Great drone!
I love this little drone so much! It is so cute and tiny and flies very well. I have purchased multiple small drones, but this is the only one that is still usable after a year. It does nice tricks, and the batteries are rechargeable. For such a small drone, I didn’t expect a good camera, but the photo quality is surprisingly good. Anyone who is able to work a controller can easily pilot it. I have used it indoors and out, and even though I’ve accidentally crashed it into walls, I’ve never dented or even scratched anything. I would absolutely recommend this drone!
