Ultra portable charger and battery bank
I was interested in this model to avoid having to carry a separate charger and battery bank in a small bag. It seems to serve that purpose well, the folding plug prevents scratching other items and it can charge my devices both with and without a plug available. I wish it had a little more capacity, but I suppose a 45W charger and battery is already expensive, and making it any larger would make it a lot less portable. In looking at other reviews, it seems like there’s some confusion about the capacity of the battery. The most useful metric in evaluating battery banks is Watt-hours (Wh). It claims to have an 18Wh capacity, and my testing suggests that they’re probably telling the truth. Measuring using a fixed 10 Watt load, I was able to get around 15.8Wh out at both 5V and 9V outputs. Because of internal inefficiencies, devices generate heat when converting between different voltage levels. This is required because batteries don’t output 5V or 9V, and that’s what devices need to charge. Getting 15.8Wh out of a 18Wh battery would put the efficiency around 87% which sounds reasonable. The 5,000mAh number appears to be 18Wh at the nominal battery voltage of 3.6V. The 3,000mAh number appears to be 15Wh at 5V, suggesting what efficiency they were expecting. An iPhone 14 and 14 Pro has a slightly larger than 12Wh battery, so this bank should be able to fully charge such a device once if it was fully charged with a little to spare. As for some more technical details, when powered from both battery and wall power, it supports QC2.0, QC3.0, and USB PD 3.0. QC2 always supports 9V, QC3 always supports 3.6-9V.On battery power with a single device, the USB PD negotiations are limited to 19W with two fixed profiles of 5V@3A and 9V@2.22A. When using two devices, it limits each port to 9W, QC2 and QC3 are disabled, and there is a single fixed PD profile of 5V@1.8A.On wall power with a single device, it supports delivering up to 48W with fixed profiles of 5V@3A, 9V@3A, 15V@3A, and 20V@2.25A. It also supports PPS at 5V-16V with 3A. Connecting a second device leaves the QC2 and QC3 options the same, but limits the PD profiles depending on if one of the devices is fast charge capable. If it’s not (eg. AirPods), then the PD profiles are 5V@2.1A, 9V@2.2A, 15V@2A, 20V@1.5A, and PPS of 5-11V@3A. If it is, they’re limited to a fixed 5V@2.1A and 9V@1.66A.

    Versatile
It’s very versatile, and great to take on trips. It’s a lifesaver in planes. It’s a bit on the heavy side so if your plug is a bit loose, maybe not. Anker always makes great and reliable products.

    It’s a sensible product
This charger/power bank does have not the largest capacity, but it’s small enough to carry comfortably in a shoulder bag, maybe even a pocket. So it can charge a laptop and a phone when plugged in, and recharge a phone when it’s not. The real selling point for me is that it’s big enough to charge an iPhone, it means you don’t need a separate charger for your laptop, and it’s physically small enough to carry. It wouldn’t satisfy everyone, but it definitely works for me.

great design idea, but keep in mind 45W is not ideal for some laptops
The idea of integrating a battery into the “power brick” is great, since you need to carry around a wall charger anyway, and this way you get a battery too and the overall thing is not that much bigger than a typical wall charger.Bear in mind that the max output wattage (45) is more than enough to maximally power any current generation phone (as of 2024) but is not as much power as the maximum charge rate of a modern laptop, which ranges from 60-140W.That means this can charge a laptop just fine, but not as fast as the wall charger that came with the laptop. Also, if you have a beast of a laptop and it’s running flat out (fans on, etc) then with only a 45W charger you might very slowly lose battery.I would love to see a charger that can do 145W with an integrated battery! That would replace the laptop charger, phone charger and power bank with one unit.

    Great travel charger
Anker has become my go to for travel chargers. Their plugs fold in so they don’t get damaged in transit, and all I need is a plug adapter to use it in foreign countries. With newer power hungry devices, I need to make sure I’m carrying one with enough wattage to support it, but Anker has always had me covered. I’ve also had good results from their cables.

Small, but heavier than I thought it would.
I wanted this product for traveling internationally. The prongs fold down out of sight. It is small, but thicker and a little heavier than I thought. It performs without a problem, slips easily into your pocket, and is inexpensive. I would definitely recommend gor the price.
