VLC for WINDOWS USERS:
If you’re using VLC on Windows to stream, the card may not report the supported resolutions. If this happens you’ll have to manually type them in on the Open Capture Device screen; here are the modes listed via ffmpeg: 640×480, 720×480, 720×576, 800×600, 1024×768, 1280×720, 1280×960, 1280×1024, 1360×768, 1600×1200, 1920×1080 The default output format ‘mjpeg’ supports 10-60 fps for all resolutions, and ‘yuyv422’ supports between 5-30 fps randomly per mode (1080 is 5fps) Note: the ffmpeg command to use is: ffmpeg.exe -f dshow -list_options true -i video=”USB Video”
STILL FRAMES ONLY: There may be an incompatibility or driver issue with your system. You can solve this problem by using an HDMI switching device such as the Gana 8k or 4k/HDMI Switch.
STEREO ISSUES: If you are only seeing a single channel of audio on record or streaming you need to check HDMI Audio Settings: Make sure the source device you are connecting to the HDMI to USB Video Capture Card is set to output stereo audio. Works great, east to use!
I got this so I could record the screens on the menu on my Canon 5D DSLR. It works great, Plug and play on macOS. No special software needed, Macâs got it built-in. Plenty of videos available online to walk you through that process. Iâm sure this would work great for anything else. Video games or other items with an HDMI output. Well, pleased with this item.

Good product for experienced user
This product is excellent for the price. I had a similar experience to another reviewer who reported that they could only use it with OSB the first time they used it and then it stopped working. Unlike that reviewer, I found that I could use it with other software such as Microsoft Camera and it worked fine with that. The problem seems to be a firmware issue with the device that changes the device ID or something. After it stops working, OSB can’t find it any more and does not recognize it as a capture card. Other software is unaffected by this problem. If you’re not live streaming, it won’t be a problem for you because you can import your content to OSB as a media file. If you are live streaming, you *might* be able to connect to your camera by importing the other software as a source but I have not tried this because I don’t use my camera for live streaming. The picture quality is excellent when just using it to capture from a HDMI camera (in my case, I am using a BMD Studio Camera and it works perfectly, allowing me to to avoid buying an expensive field monitor to do the exact same thing I am doing now). If you are experienced with computers you will have no problem with this capture card. If you are less experienced, you might need to put in a little more effort to get it working, but I don’t think it is a serious handicap compared to the benefits. I deducted 1 star due to the issues about OSB compatibility, especially since most users will want to use it for that purpose.

Cheapest Capture Card out there
I had El Gato’s , ATEM’s and others before. This $10 mini version does exactly what you need to do if you wanna live stream from your Camera. I run a sony a6400, an a7iii and a FX3 into my ATEM Mini pro. Then I run the HDMI into this small capture card straight to my Laptop. Result is killer HD Live stream in 1080p. Can’t get any better. The connections are kinda loose so I bought 3 of these just to have backup. I modified one with heat shrink and a USB extension and it does the job beautifully. Can’t go wrong for $10

Overheated, unreliable glitched camera to colored screen lines
I purchased this as a recommendation as a cheap alternative to the algoto cam link. I will add a video later of what happens when itâs in use.At first it was okay. It turned my stream into 1080p for my song like I wanted. I didnât realize it was the capture cards fault at first. I thought it was the WiFi or streamlabs because Iâm newer to streaming. Not only does it hang loosely in the usb port but it gets very hot very quickly. Itâs extremely unreliable to say the least. Then as the stream went on it started lagging me and freezing the screen. After that it fully shut down and created rainbow colored lines onto my video. As much as I wish this was a bang for the buck Iâd have to say, pass or good luck to anyone who tries to use this for more than an hour. Waste of time and money.

Good and inexpensive, but you get what you pay for!
Used it for my Xbox 360. The video quality is nice, and it’s able to do 1080p30 and 720p60. Very easy to use, just acts like a webcam meaning it’s plug and play. Seems to strip HDCP too, if you need it for a console like the PS3.While this is a great value for what it is, if you’re a perfectionist and a few very rare dropped frames are going to irriate you, don’t buy it. It also tends to gets hot after prolonged use, but it never “overheats”.
