That guy that bought that thing –
More storage, easier to manage IMHO
I should note, that I am only a week into usage after my purchase and setup/install of the cameras and Homebase. If anything collapses and my cameras assist Skynet in the takeover on August 29, 2025, then I’ll update later.I ordered the S380 Homebase to accompany three Eufy S340 Solocams. Then I ordered a Samsung 870EVO 1TB SSD. Hooking up the Homebase was a simple as a) installing the app on my iPhone 15Pro Max. b) plugging the ether-net cord into my router and then into the Homebase c) plugging the Homebase into a power source and d) following the instructions in the app to gain access to the Homebase and the cameras (pushing the sync button, scanning the QR codes on the base and cameras).I cannot vouch for anyone else’s experience, as I have only mine, but the walk-through on the app was straightforward and worked easily. I had no issue getting the Homebase to recognize my router and then getting the Homebase to recognize the cameras. Even after I accidentally turned off the power to it, it was nothing more than ensuring that it was plugged back in. Less than two minutes later, all cameras were communicating with the Homebase again and I could run through the menus and playbacks without a problem.Installing the extra storage drive – on the face of it – was super easy. Just unplug the base, attach the drive and slide it back into the base. The Homebase recognized my SSD right away (Use the app to check the status and whether or not it ‘sees’ it), and all I had to do after that was format it. Boom, I have enough storage I won’t have to worry about it for an extended period.Again, I cannot speak to anyone else’s issues, but my set up and experience so far has been seamless. I do wonder if firmware updates have resolved some of the issues other folks experienced. So far so good and I have no complaints at the moment. I do believe that having your router centrally located in your home will help with connectivity. Also, I noted that by simply moving the Homebase out from BEHIND a TV and instead to the left of it and thus closer to two cameras, connectivity improved immediately for one camera. Knock on wood, ALL three cameras are solidly connected. This system was a relatively easy choice for me. I had two people I trust recommend it. It was on par with or a little less than other brands with similar capabilities and features (Nest, Ring, Arlo). There is no subscription fee and with the ability to dramatically upgrade storage, you likely will never need cloud storage if you’re just using it for home security (I would say a business might have different needs). Not having to pay a subscription fee will (albeit slowly) offset the cost of the system and SSD I purchased.

Impressive technology
I wasn’t really sure what to expect of this device, I bought it to pair with a smart door bell camera and ended up falling off the deep end and now have a bunch of Eufy cameras and 2 of these home bases, at two different locations. I find many “smart home” products frustrating due to the subscription fees and that they rely on persistent Internet connections to function. Eufy stood out for the ability to record and process the videos locally, I added an SSD to each home base…and it is still cheaper than a year of subscription fees.I ended up adding door sensors, cameras, doorbells, add-on door chimes (as one house never had an actual door bell). I am able to manage all of these easily from a great app, and everything is stored on the Home Base…and I can keep as many recordings as I want. The AI processing really does a great job, I will be contacting Eufy for many feature enhancements that I think would just make this a better product — and some of them I’d likely even pay extra for. I am using this to monitor the security at a remote property, and it works great…and due to being truly rural, even if the Internet is offline I can still check back later. I have this paired to a battery UPS so that this and my solar cameras so that I won’t miss a thing.

Does what it’s supposed
Works great, stores endless videos from the security system, and was easy to set up. This is needed for your cameras to function. It doesn’t actually capture images/videos; so there is no night vision, lag, or motion detection. It stores the media from your cameras.

Great system with easy install
Great system and clarity. This covers two points of entry and the entire backyard using three eufy solo S3 cameras. Good WiFi is a must. My only gripe with the system is the speed of identification 5-8 seconds and you canât quickly transition from the video recording to live feed so you can talk to them. Is a great value for what you spend and you can set up and forget about the system. Battery life is a non-issue with the solar recharging on the cameras. I like the fact that I can upgrade the memory on the home base unit and thereâs no monthly fees which is another reason why I chose this system. Overall great security system buy but due to that lack of quick change from video recording to live feed I have this as a 4 stars but I think it should really be at a 4.5 stars.

Works like a charm!
We bought this homemade and two Eyfy solar powered cameras. The homebase allows your camera images to be stored and accessed through your phone. The images are crisp, there are no reoccurring fees, the set up was manageable and if you have a problem or question you can get a tutorial online or contact Eufy to help. We had a creep come to our door and we could have used these cameras then! Donât wait. I would definitely buy again. Also, the whole rig is expandable. We will be getting additional cameras.

Set up was a breeze and wifi connection to our cameras and doorbell is rock solid. Signal strength is great. Very happy we switched.
