Compact, almost pro quality gimbal.
I recently got the Sony ZV-E1, and am looking for a gimbal that is compact enough to take it everywhere, but also powerful enough to do some serious videos. I had a few gimbals in mind, but decided to give the Feiyu Scorp Mini a try, since I have been using Feiyu products for years.Scorp mini arrived within 2 days via Amazon prime shipping. It is well packaged, and there is no damage at all. When I 1st unpacked, and took the gimbal out, I was very surprised how light it was. It weighs only 1.75lb!!! This must be one of the lightest gimbals I have used so far. It has a very special design with the 2nd handle built in for low shots, kind of like Weebill S, and the Feiyu Scorp pro. Just the 2nd handle is not removable. Even with the 2nd handle not removable, it still came in under 2lb. By having 2 handles on this gimbal, gives me added stability without additional added weight. There is a 1.3â touch display that can be used to control all the functions, and settings of the gimbal, without having to connect to an app. This makes changing modes, and settings so much easier and faster. I can even do calibrations, and check for balance via the touch screen as well.The Scrop Mini can be used with many different cameras, from Sony mirrorless, cell phone, to action cams. It comes with all the mounting accessories needed for the different cameras. So far I have only used my Sony ZV-E1, it is very easy to set up, and balance. One of the major improvement is the mounting bracket, now the gimbal can use standard ARCA Swiss plate to mount on the gimbal. No additional accessories, or tools needed. I have Peak designâs capture plate on all my cameras, which work with all ARCA swiss mounts; this can work on the Scorp Mini with no problem at all. I just put it on, tighten it, and ready to go. I have been waiting for this upgrade for years, and finally happened on the Scorp Mini!!!I have my ZV-E1, 20mm lens, and Scorp Mini, total weight less than 3lb. Very workable setup for on the go video shoots. There are a few more buttons on the gimbal to help with the workflow. There is a physical knob that can be used to control tilt, pan or roll of the gimbal movements. There is also a FPV button, to switch to FPV mode. F1, and F2 buttons can be programmed for different features. This is a very capable gimbal in a tiny body. So far this little gimbal has been great for my video needs.I have been using this for about a week so far, there are 2 things I would love Feiyu to improve on. 1. Vertical shooting mode. There is vertical shooting mode built-in to the gimbal, but I would have to hold the gimbal in a flashlight position. Which is not the most comfortable way to hold the gimbal. Many other brands have ways to mount the camera vertically, for vertical social media videos. Hope Feiyu is able to add the feature on Scorp Mini. 2. There are no ways to mount additional accessories onto the Scorp Mini. Like an external monitor, mic, or wireless transmitter. This is very important to have, when I am shooting for more serious work. I would need some type of way to mount accessories to the gimbal. This can be critical when shooting for more semi pro video work. If this gimbal just used for social media, or for casual use, then maybe mounting threads are not needed.So far this is a great compact gimbal, thatâs very powerful and very semi pro quality. Just with a few minor improvements needed to be used for professional work. I would still keep this gimbal for mainly social media content creations. Because of its compact design and versatility, it is great to have with me when I am traveling.

The sony action FDR X3000 with the built in stabilization technology shoot way better stabilized videos than this gimbal. Waste of money

I got this gimbal and Iâm here to share my honest thoughts. I’ve spent a ton on camera gearâI own five other gimbalsâIâve definitely had my share of frustrations. Working solo means camera functionality is super important for me.This gimbal has really taken a load off my shoulders. I used to have tracking issues, even with high-end gear, but this one has a built-in camera that tracks perfectly without needing extra equipment. I just mounted my GoPro, balanced it, and it locked onto me like a champ. No cables needed, which is awesome! The app is easy to use for adjusting settings, and it even comes with a phone mount and cables for different cameras, making it super simple to switch things up.So far, this has been the best investment Iâve made in gimbals, especially for the price. Iâd definitely recommend it!The FeiyuTech Scorp Mini 2 is a compact upgrade for cameras or phones. It has a built-in tracking camera and a mini touchscreen that makes adjusting settings a breeze. The joystick is way better than the old circle pad, plus there are shortcut buttons for quick access.Even though it has a lower max weight limit than the full version, it comes with adapters for all sorts of cameras, including action cams and smartphones. There are two apps: one for wireless control and another for using your phone as the camera.You definitely need to practice with this gimbal; it wonât magically fix all your motion issues. I noticed a slight high-frequency noise from the motor when using the front wheel, which could be picked up by sensitive mics, but the joystick is quiet and works great. For the best tracking results, keep the camera lens close to the tracking lens.Overall, this gimbal is pretty impressive and works well with smaller, lighter cameras. Iâd give it â â â â â (4 out of 5 stars)!

Life saver for DIY content creator
I rarely ever leave reviews, but this product deserves it. I bought this and was not paid for this review. 100% untainted opinion here. I’ve spent thousands on camera equipment, including 5 other gimbals over the last few years. I’m not a tech guy so there have been many frustrations. As a full time Youtuber, camera functionality is extremely important. Especially since I do it all myself. I don’t have a camera guy or anyone helping.This gimbal absolutely took a load of stress off. I’ve always had issues with tracking, even with high end cameras and gimbals. You end up with this cluster F of cables etc and when it doesn’t work it’s incredibly frustrating. This tool has a little camera built in, so it tracks flawlessly (so far) even without a camera plugged in. I didn’t have to buy any additional trackers or anything. Simply mounted a gopro (much smaller than my big camera) again, no cables. Balanced this, turned it on, and boom, I can place this wherever, kitchen counter, pickup tailgate, wherever, give this an ok signal with my hand, and it’s locked on me. The tracking is great, camera off, no cables, perfect operation. I downloaded the app and linked them, all the settings are easy to adjust in the app. It came with a phone mount, (also has cables for about any camera, and the ability to operate the camera from the screen) so I can easily switch from my gopro to either my big camera or my smart phone and it works very well. Just a simple re-balance and your g2g.We will see how long it lasts, but this has been hands down the best money spent on something like this, and far less expensive than most of what I’ve purchased before. I’m very happy with this and would recommend it to anyone.

This product comes in a high quality retail box, with a firm foam insert to keep all components protected, and gives you a good way to store the device between uses.The high quality packaging hints of the overall product quality.As you will see in the attached video, the gimbal comes with a full instruction booklet. I found the instructions were well written, had clear illustrations, and when followed with care you had all the information to successfully set up and use the product.During the video you will see me turn on the unit and it seemed to judder; take note this was due to the gimbal not having been set up with a camera or cell phone yet. Once setup was done the gimbal is smooth as silk, and super well balanced. The video is primarily intended to give you a better view of what comes in the box.I have tested the unit with a mid weight camera and it balances, pans, tilts and rolls precisely and smoothly. If I had a large lens it came with a bracket to balance the lens too – I did not need that in my scenario.I also tested with a couple of different cell phones; this included a very old, very small iPhone, as well as a large iPhone Plus Max – in both cases the self adjusting phone clamp accommodates the phones perfectly.In use I found the gimbal is very easy to control. My main use is to video walk around shots and some live movement pans, particularly automotive; the ability for the gimbal to smooth out jerky movements is nothing short of impressive.The follow me functions are also impressive. I am able to shoot an interview format video and the gimbal, mounted on the provided tripod (or your own tripod) was able to fully track the subject without any intervention required.Features such as the ability to rotate towards and away in a smooth 180 degree sweep is excellent for a two party interview, where the interviewer is also the camera man.Overall Verdict?This is truly an excellent quality, excellent performing, and full featured gimbal. I very highly recommend this product without hesitation.

The SCORP Mini 2 arrived safely, and it comes neatly packed and presented in an illustrated retail box. For the money you get quite of lot of accessories and cables which I really like, especially the magnetic fill light!The overall quality of the gimbal kit is brilliant, it looks and feels well made, its lightweight, and the quality of the materials are very good indeed.The multi-functional L-shaped quick release plate is an excellent design as it allows you to quickly swap between various devices including phones, cameras, and action cameras (up to 1.2kg). I also love the under-handle design along with the integrated joystick, it feels better for control and comfort compared to normal stick type gimbals and allows you to hold it for longer periods of time.There is a handy dial on the side which controls the rotation of the gimbal such as the tilt, pan and roll. The touchscreen is also easy to understand and operate as well as being brighter so you can still see it in the sunlight.The intelligent tracking feature is another highlight for this gimbal. It does an excellent job of tracking the subject, keeping it in frame, and it pans very smoothly whether itâs a person or object. You can also use gesture controls such as using the ok symbol to start and stop tracking and the gestures are very useful if youâre working on your own.Battery life is another strong area, and it should be able to give you continuous operation for up to 10 hours. Even if it runs low on battery, you can charge it up quiet quickly so its always ready to go.Overall, I think this is an excellent, and very practical all in one gimbal and whether you are an amateur or professional I think you will love the features that you get on this Mini 2. For around the £300 mark with all the accessories represents good value for money for what you are getting. Itâs a product Iâm more than happy to recommend and I feel its easily worth the full five stars, buy with total confidence!

This is not an entry level steady cam, it requires a little bit of know how to get set up properly. Like all advanced stabilizer rigs it needs to be set up and balanced for the camera thatâs being mounted, but once the set up is done boy does it work well!Itâs actually very straight forward to use, and completely stand alone! No app required.My fav purist thing about this rig is that it does not require any external input to function! It has its own little camera so it can track and follow all on its own. You just give the okay symbol with your hand (make a circle with thimble and pointer finger) and it starts tracking.The actual hardware itself is super precise and well made. It comes with anything you would need to mount and plug in pretty much any camera.Awesome rig, works really well, 10/10 totally worth every penny.
