Quick and Easy Set-Up; Mediocre DVD control
I was very pleased and impressed with how quickly the remote connected to both my (10+ year-old Vizio) TV and my (1-year-old Roku Express) streaming media player. I entered the listed codes manually, for both devices. In both cases, the first code listed worked like a charm. I’m not very techy, but after reading and following the instructions, it all went very smoothly for both devices.I love that the buttons light up, and are a good size to read. They feel just a little spongey when pressed (I prefer a more defined, firm, “click” feel for buttons), but it was manageable. When entering numeric codes that ended with 5, I had to push the 5 twice to get it to light up and connect. Not sure whether that was intended/designed, or a result of the spongey-ness.I also have a (5-year-old Samsung) DVD player whose remote had been corroded over time. I purchased what I thought was the replacement remote for the model/serial number, but it didn’t work. It’s possible my DVD player is old enough that dedicated remotes are no longer available. That was my initial reason for trying this universal remote. I hoped the universal remote would control all the same functions as the old, included DVD remote. This universal remote does power my DVD player on and off, and it does open and close the DVD drawer. But I couldn’t get it to show the DVD menu (for options like subtitles or special film features). I manually entered every code listed for a Samsung DVD player, and some of those codes did work to power on/off, and open/close the drawer. I then cycled through the instructions to let the remote seek and find its own codes, with the same result. I tested a few different DVDs, but never could get as far as playing the movie, so I couldn’t test pause, fast forward, or rewind functions (I saw only the opening FBI warning screen and producer logo screens). Maybe my DVD player is just finally dying, and no remote can help.On closer inspection, I realized that this universal remote’s description and instructions indicate only that it will power on/off and open/close DVD players; there is nothing that says it can access DVD menus or control playback. It’s possible a newer DVD player might accept more codes or connect with more DVD functions. So overall, this is a really great remote for at least TVs and Streaming; it may work very well with newer, fancier DVD players and other components as well. The instructions are clear, and set-up was fully complete within 30-60 seconds for 2/3 of my devices.

Too Good To Be True – But Itâs True
Yâall, I wanted something SIMPLE. My parents needed a remote to control everything from a VHS/DVD combo box to a Cox Contour extension box, along with a Mitsubishi TV. I didnât even know they made TVs.I looked at the $180 remotes I saw on Google. I looked at the $70 simplified versions. Then I found this.I was SURE that for this price point, there was no way it was going to do everything I needed. But sure enough – 4 different inputs, absolutely everything just works!3 of the 4 had working codes right away. The 4th device (VHS/DVD recorder) didnât, so I had to use the auto code detector. I thought it was going to be complicated and take forever. Nope! Just a free easy button pushes, and after 4 minutes of me just pushing Power a few times, it was finished and worked perfectly. I thought it would be awful, but it ended up being so simple. The one and only concession is that we have to press the TV button before controlling the volume, and the AUX button to control the channels through our cable box. But at this price point, thatâs hardly even an issue.Itâs SO GOOD, yâall. If youâre even thinking about it, just DO IT! I wish I could give it a 6th star.

Everything works but audio input function
It works well and everything works but the audio input function. So I still need the original remote in order to change input on the soundbar. It does not work with Fire TV or fire Cube but I knew that in advance. Nothing works with those except the fire remotes. Otherwise it’s a nice remote for the money I just wish the soundbar inputs would work.

Lol! Twelve dollars when I thought I had to spend over $150
I have a Samsung TV, Roku device and a Bose soundbar. Getting all three to work on one remote I thought was impossible without buying a Logitech. This remote is preprogrammed for a Samsung TV and Roku. All that I was hoping for is a code that would control the volume of the Bose soundbar. I chose the first code and viola! One remote that controls all three. I wasnât going to spend $150 or even $400 for the big Logitech just to control the Bose volume. Here it is for twelve dollars. If it works for my three, Iâm sure it will work for most devices. If everything was this cheap and easy to solve, my blood pressure would be a lot lower!

Great product
I originally bought one remote for my momâs bedroom tv because our old one had smaller and darker buttons that she couldnât see really well. She loved it so much I bought a second one for the living room. She loves the large button size and the light up feature. Itâs much easier to use for someone who has vision problems. Great product!

Worked well for a few months, then . . .
Bought this at the beginning of October and it is now the end of December. It was easy to set up and work but over time the buttons became less and less responsive. Today I am looking to purchase a new remote.

great remote for LG TV, audio
I got this to replace the remote that came with my LG tv. Took a few tries but was able to find a code that works all functions, and it eliminates the dreaded cursor that the LG remote had, and it is backlit as well. I was also able to get it to control my Yamaha 6.1 receiver. I am one happy user.

I purchased the GE 4 device remote and it is fantastic 10/10 for my needs. I have a new Samsung 65â TV (not our main TV) and Samsung soundbar that I watch in a very dark room, mainly watching Netflix movies and series. I only use this Universal remote for the Samsung TV and soundbar, and donât use it for any other devices such as Bluray player etc. I have been using this remote out of the box without having to change any codes. The backlit buttons on the remote are fantastic in the very dark room, just what I have been looking for. Some reviewers have commented that the Back button on this remote doesnât work, but the Back button on my remote works perfectly. The only minor glitch I have found with this remote is that although the On/Off button powers on my Samsung TV and my Samsung soundbar immediately at the same time, the On/Off button doesnât power the TV (and soundbar) off unless I firstly press the Home button, and then the Power buttonâ¦.. only a minor glitch. Otherwise all buttons work well, e.g. the volume button adjusts the volume on the Samsung soundbar perfectly, Fast Fwd etc work well. What I particularly like is that the main centre OK button pauses the show I am watching and a press of the adjacent > button advances 10 seconds with each press. Press OK to resume playing again. I usually prefer this to the Fast Fwd button that advances too quickly. In short, for the price, this remote is excellent for my needs.
