Whether you’re a parent trying to keep track of your children’s whereabouts, a caretaker in need of alarm system to know when the elderly or infirm need your aid, or a homeowner looking to shore up their home security system, the Ideal Security 630 Pressure Mat Alarm comes with the essential features to suit your needs. When stepped on, this sensitive pressure mat alarm will emit either a chime or an alarm, depending on your settings. There are three modes available (Off/Alarm/Chime) with three levels of sound. If the alarm mode is in use, you can set it to your desired sound of Low (65dB), Medium (75dB), or High (105dB). As part of its discrete design, you can also place a lightweight mat over it. Your home alarm system can be seamlessly and simply improved with the 630 Pressure Mat Alarm. The gentle, pleasant chime can be used to welcome guests into your home or let you monitor the comings and goings of children and pets. Once you’ve placed your mat in a desired location, you can mount the wired alarm unit with the two included screws. The 30’ wire is thin, allowing it to be tucked away and hidden when connected to your alarm mat. If the alarm sounds weak or the chime sounds distorted, replace the alarm unit’s 9V battery immediately. The battery life will vary depending on the number of uses per day and the selected sound option. If the alarm is triggered an average of 20 times per day, the battery will last for approximately 12 months (if on the Low sound option), approximately 9 months (if on the Medium sound option), or approximately 6 months (if on the High sound option).

Great product, outstanding customer service. 18-month review
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AND COMPANY!In this day and age, it is refreshing to find a company that is so responsive and stands behind their products with great customer service.I bought one of these about a year and a half ago. It’s outside under another mat, and is indispensable because sometimes the dogs get let out and forgotten and they don’t know to paw at the door or bark. This fixes that problem.So I bought another one for the other door that the dogs use.Recently, the first one stopped working after 18 months and it was beat up (plastic torn, exposed insides, etc.) I’m surprised it worked as long as it did. So I figured, well, I’ll just get another one and replace it, which I did. Then I thought, well, I should give the manufacturer a chance to fix it if they want.I emailed the company through their website, and Liohn responded w/in 24 hours (good). I asked what the expected lifetime is and explained the situation. They said, “we certainly expect it to last longer than a year and half, especially if it’s under another mat.” They are sending me a new (even larger!) mat to replace it. I was going to return the replacement i bought ot Amazon, but now I’m thinking I’ll just keep it and put it at the third door that the dogs (and human guests) sometimes use. So, the failure of the first one ironically led me to buy another one, so the company made out OK too.This is what good customer service should look like. Most companies, including big companies like Andersen Windows, completely fail at this.

We put it on the edge of an elderly person’s bed and the alarm goes off every time she put her foot on it to get up. There is a long cord to put the alarm in another room but we donât use it because the alarm is high enough.This is exactly what we needed. I don’t see why there are negative comments.We’ve only been using it for a few days and I hope it lasts a long time. I have only had this for a few days, and I have not yet learned what will happen when the stray cat I feed steps on it. I bought it for him.I put this under a waterproof doormat, and I set the food bowls on it. I ran the wire (which is long enough for just about anything!) under the door and up & around the cabinets. The “CHIME” function is the one I chose because the ALARM function is ridiculously loud. The CHIME function is still so loud that I had to wrap the transmitter in a waffle towel, stuff it is a jar, and put it inside a closed cabinet. Really, M. Manufacturer: PUT A VOLUME CONTROL ON IT, and I’ll give you FIVE stars!!I don’t know how long it will last, so I cannot review it for longevity. At one point, it stopped working. I checked everything, never found the problem, but it started working again. I don’t know if there is. short in it.The trick is getting the CHIME quiet enough that it doesn’t run off the stray cat while still letting me know he’s there! I think I’ve got it now. If you’re looking to buy, this is a simple affordable device, but it does need a volume control.It would work great if you have a patient or loved one in the home who wants to get up out of bed and shouldn’t, or needs to be monitored. Also, if you have a shop and you need to know when to come up front for a customer. This should work, as long as you protect it under a mat.

Great for sleepwalking!
I have a problem with sleepwalking and falling in my sleep. Iâll wake up as Iâm falling not knowing what I was about to crash into. Iâve had many injuries and black eyes, and dreaded going to sleep at night. My husband found this on Amazon and it works perfectly to wake me up before I sleepwalk. As soon as I step on the mat it chimes and wakes me up. I am so thankful for this product and now I donât worry about sleepwalking. Thank you!

This is a lifesaver. So why the 3 star rating? Hereâs my story… I moved to a new place where there is no glass sliding door for my cats to come to when theyâre ready to come inside. This lets me know when theyâre here so I can let them in. I put an outdoor mat over this right in front of the door, ran the wire under the deck boards and taped it around the corner of the door frame so you canât even see the wire. The speaker is located inside a cabinet nearby the door so thatâs also out of the way. This thing isnât SUPER loud, though. I had to put 10 layers of duct tape over the speaker box and keep it in the closed cabinet to manage the sound level. REALLY wish it would have an adjustable volume knob and some other sound options. The two options are an alarm that sounds like a security alarm (super obnoxious) and one that sounds like a standard doorbell. I wish there was a more soothing sound or shorter sound clip. The unit runs on a 9v battery which is nice. Had it going for 4 months now and it still works fine on the same battery. The cats scratches at the wire (and broke it) before I decided to cover it with tape, so I had to strip the wire and solder them back together. Not a big deal for someone with the experience, but my point is that the wire gauge is super small and delicate.

Works well for what I need it for!
I bought this to use as a way to know my cat wanted in the house. I started letting him outside by only the back door and put this mat down for him to step on when he wanted in. Once he got used to it, it worked great. This mat has two different ring tones. One sounds like a doorbell and the other is an annoying alarm sound, but would be good more for a type of security. Both sounds are loud and can be heard pretty much throughout our house. It also comes with a pretty long cord. I think it’s a good value for what I needed.

Puppy wasnât barking at the door to come in during cold winter. I put the mat underneath carpet on deck so when he stands on it, chime goes off inside. Long cord attached so chime can be placed where you can hear it. Withstands very cold Canadian winter temps. Works great for what I bought it for.

I use the smart mat as an elderly motion detection to sense when my elderly mum is out of bed. She has a high fall risk, and like to wonder about on her own without informing us. So having this detection/alarm is extremely useful. We layer it within a yoga mat to make it anti slip and placed it at my mumâs bedside so that whenever she leaves her bed and get up, the alarm will go off once her feet touches the mat. The alarm is quite loud, so we had to wrap it with a towel to reduce the volume.

Bought this to assist with housebreaking a puppy. Worked well but the chime was loud enough to spook the puppy. So I put a couple of turns of electrical tape to mute the chime a bit and it was all good.If this is your reason for purchase, it might Not work with a very small puppy. Itâll need to weigh about 6 lbs to trigger.
