The sound is terrific
My husband & I really like this product. The sound is really great. Itâs very durable & easy to use after set up. Set up wasnât too bad (but I do have adult children that helped me a little). I bought it to listen in my yard especially when company comes over. But we used it in a car ride & that was great too. Thank you for making such a durable product that sounds so great. I was a little apprehensive (I bought it refurbished which knocked the price lower) apprehension unfounded because everything seems great. Looks like new, plays as & works as it should.

Super sound, super portable
JBL makes great sounding speakers and this one follows suit. The charge 5 has a bigger bass response than other similar offerings Iâve heard. Out of the box, I was a little concerned about the high end treble – but when you use the app, you can customize the frequency response to your liking. Easy Bluetooth synch. Impressive volume capacity. Battery life is good. I bought the gray model with red trim and it looks sharp, but black will always hide dirt smudges better. I bought a refurbished one at a super price, incredible value and it has worked well.

I also love the fact that you can link up to other âparty boostâ enables JBL speakers to give the music a surround sound feel. Get together with some buddies and buy a few and you can have a great party without breaking the bank on one huge speaker.

This Speaker is Nothing Short of Fantastic!
Superb JBL sound quality – clear, crisp, but with unbelievably deep bass for such a small enclosure. And the battery life is nothing less than phenomenal – I haven’t run down a battery yet in either of the two Charge 5’s that I have purchased! And the Bluetooth range has to be over 100′. As a bonus, it truly is waterproof (as I discovered by accident). Fantastic speaker twice the price!

ALOT of sound for a little fella!! – HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I purchased a different brand of EXTREMELY popular portable speaker a month ago. It was displayed along with a JBL FLIP 6. The Flip 6, I felt, was a significantly inferior product. A month after purchasing the other brand speaker, I then had the opportunity to compare that same model of speaker with the JBL CHARGE 5. The result … the other brand of speaker went back into its box, and then to its maker!This JBL CHARGE 5 is an AMAZINGLY high quality sound system. The look, the feel, the quality of material. and craftsmanship are all TOP SHELF!! The highs are very crisp and the lows aren’t muffled. The bass REALLY shines at higher volumes.I also own a larger, 70 watt, portable stereo unit. It has an equalizer function, that is basically a bass boost, and it is about 4 times larger in size than the 40 watt CHARGE 5. When comparing the two of them, the stereo unit does take home the blue ribbon. However, even though the CHARGE 5 is a mono system, it certainly gave the larger unit a run for its money.The CHARGE 5 also has the capability of daisy chaining to another compatible JBL Bluetooth speaker, thus producing an audio sound and projection that is a comparable, albeit psuedo, performance to a stereo unit.I searched out and purchased a case, on AMAZON, for the JBL, along with a protective silicone cradle that included a shoulder strap and a Carabiner clip. I modified the shoulder strap into a handle that works out quite nicely!The battery life isn’t the greatest, however, it lasts much longer than the average user would normally utilize the speaker through the course of a 24 hour day.The Bluetooth functionality is awesome. It locked right into the signal and paired up, then connected, in a heart beat. The only REAL negative aspect of this sweet device is the auto power off feature, which is set to power down after an extremely short interval of idleness. This can become a tremendously frustrating nuisance.All and all, I HIGHLY recommend this extremely high quality, elegant looking, well manufactured, water tight, JBL CHARGE 5 portable speaker. It is a bit more of an investment than the its contemporary JBL FLIP series. However, it is far and above the better choice for quality and performance.I do imagine that, if I treat it with care, this well may be the last portable speaker that this ole boy will ever need to buy!!

Hands down the best speaker for the money
I have a couple of other JBL Charge 5 speakers, and I wanted another one to have with the set. I was a little hesitant to purchase a “refurbished” unit. But I quickly changed my thoughts when I received it. It was brand new… in appearance at least, factory sealed box, literature, cable, etc. I will never hesitate to buy refurbished again. And the bonus was, I saved a ton of money. This unit is truly amazing!

This model from JBL is exactly what i wanted for a portable speaker, it light and very portable and it has great sound, i play all kinds of music on it and it all sounds great! Would highly recommend this speaker if you want something for the deck or around the pool.

La compré para usarla con el modo party boost y en estéreo con una flip 6, el modo estereo no está disponible porque ahora resulta que deben ser o 2 flip o 2 charge pero no 1 y 1, bueno, en ningún lado encontré esta información y no me parece lógico pero está bien… es cosa de la marca, pero lo que no está bien es:En modo party boost cada canción se desconectan las bocinas 2 o 3 veces y se restablecen, suenan bien 2 o 3 minutos y se desconectan de nuevo, hablo de cualquier distancia, 30 cms. o 3 metros es lo mismo, ya sea con windows o android es lo mismo, hay manera de corregir esto?Update:Desde la aplicación de JBL me descargó una actualización de software y las dejó PEOR! ahora no puedo hacer party boost desde windows, solo desde android definitivamente NO ME SIRVEN PARA NADA, no puedo usarlas como monitores blue tooth desde mi pc, pero ya me gasté casi el DOBLE de lo que cuestan unos buenos monitores.Lo que derramó el vaso es que de las 20 horas que debe durar la baterÃa son 5.Van de regreso.

El speaker es bueno para su tamaño pero la baterÃa es un fraude no cumple ni con la mitad de tiempo que viene en la caja que son aproximadamente20h solo dura 4h continuas en volumen medio, pero de ahà en adelante el audio es muy bueno
