I got 7-2/3 great years out of a decently-disigned 5-year product
This is a very easy to use thermostat with a 5-year warranty. It has large numbers for the temperature readout and set-point. Programming is easy. I like the tightness of the swing setting…meaning that as it runs the HVAC I feel neither too hot nor too cold at come-on or turn-off. It’s tightness can be dialed-back for those who like a wider swing. Program override is as easy as pushing the UP or DOWN button…and it then will hold the new temp set-point until the end of the current program period. To go fully-manual…you simply press the HOLD button and it holds the set-point until the cows come home—and you change the set-pint with the UP and DOWN buttons the same as when on override. The display lights up for about 30 seconds with the push of any button, and the 2 AA batteries last for years.I had gotten the non-Pro model of this thermostat at the end of January 2017 and was impressed with its design and inexpensive price. It [also] carried a 5-year warranty and started not turning on the Cool around the middle of last month (Oct 2024, I live in SE Texas), and because the Fan and A/C could be hot-wired to ON, I decided that the culprit was the thermostat and went to look for a replacement. This same product (albeit the “Pro” version) came up at a still-decent price and I decided to just get it as a drop-in replacement. I programmed it, took off the old front-part from the wall and replaced it with the new front-part…and my system works just fine. I’ll hopefully get at least another 7-2/3 years out of this one. The difference between my original “non-Pro” and the new “Pro” version…maybe Lux can answer that question.

Easy to install and use. A great value.
I liked how the instructions helped understand where the wires should be attached. It made it easy to understand. Installation was simple and it works just as described. The cost low compared to many other thermostats.

Easy install
I replaced an older Luz thermostat and switching was straightforward. This model has a better display but the old one showed the current temperature as well as the set temperature which was nice and this one only shows the current temperature.

Simplicity of use and a large display
For years the main house thermostat for my Carrier gas furnace/air conditioning was a programmable electronic unit. The temperature was just never right. Running the program by clock and calendar to set temperatures is unrealistic, at least in U.S. Georgia. I found myself constantly fiddling with the override function to keep humidity at a tolerable level, as well as temperature. The display and control buttons were tiny, which was another aggravating factor. Programming that thing required walking through 6 or more daily settings for weekdays, and repeating the whole process for weekends. I ended up truly hating that programmable thermostat. The present non-programmable thermostat made things simple and easy to use. Large (finally!) buttons allow temperature adjustment, and the large digital display lets me operate it without putting on my reading glasses first. It’s convenient and user-friendly. Installation took only a few minutes thanks to the color-coded terminals which matched the colors of the control wiring.

Simple to install and set up.
Excellent quality product. I have used this brand professionally before retirement, and I’m not disappointed now. Have no complaints. This is excellent value for a simple, uncomplicated Low voltage thermostat.

It’s a bit fuddly to program
This unit is a huge upgrade to one of rentals because it had the old fashioned circular single setting thermostat. The multiple time settings and the display are nice. On the negative side is the programming of it. It’s not obvious and this is coming from a 30 year software engineer. I’m worried that our renters will ever figure it out.

Great buy!
I’ve been looking for one of these easy to use and affordable thermostats for a while. Easy to install yourself, comes with batteries, easy to use and it has a huge display for people who can’t see well. Works perfect so far. I really hope it last a long time, it’s a great product
