    Good Thermostat
Easy to install, comes with a back plate, looks modern. The software can be a bit confusing when setting up schedules. Works good with my Alexa environment and changes with voice commands. Sometimes hard to see the numbers due to the mirrored screen. I can access and control from anyplace I have internet access, which is very convenient when traveling and need to adjust the settings.

Great Tuya based wifi smart thermostat – works great with Alexa – super easy set up
I am a fan of Tuya devices and I have lots of them already installed via SmartLife so adding this to my smarthome was a no brainer. Very attractive design. Easy to set up and connect – anyone can do it. SmartLife app picked it up as soon as I restored power and set up was done in seconds. Just rename it if you prefer and then play with all the settings. Very fast response time over wifi. Has built in extended functionality controls that are a godsend like setting up a dwell time for the fan to run after cooling is called and then turned off – lets the fan run longer after the cycle to not waste the cold A coil (and help dehumidify it) same works in heat mode to cool the coil and avoid issues (plus extra heat for the house). That one additional function alone will drastically save me money every month and stop short cycles. The inbuilt home/away/sleep modes are handy for quickly setting up routines for max/min auto temps – can also use sensors to detect occupancy and turn the settings to away mode if you go out for a while and also has preheat/precool to get the house ready for you when you are scheduled to return. Lots more in there but the Alexa integration also lets you create custom automations and timers – one word of caution for Home Assistant users is the Tuya integration (official one) does not pull over anything (not sure why) so you may need to try Local Tuya or similar to take control local – have not tried importing with Local Tuya yet but that is on the bucket list. Display can be set to several levels of brightness (or off) depending on idle or in use mode – touch screen is very responsive but the app seems to have a better interface. And as for that one review that says houses built before 2000 can not use this – that is so wrong it is frustrating. My house was built in the 1970’s and the HVAC system was last replaced about 20 years ago. This AC system control panel (aka the thermostat) uses a C wire (it is how the thermostat gets power) and if you are missing that wire that is your AC installer’s fault. Any whole house AC system installed in the past decade has 24v available – possible even the past 2 decades since mine has it – your AC installer just never hooked it up and likley just used cheap battery powered junk thermostat and 4 wire cable to save a few bucks. But odds are you have several unused wires (many AC controller cables are 5 or more wires with a couple just not connected) that can simply be wired up and wallah you have a functional C wire – call your HVAC guy.

    Like my ecobee only cheaper
Got for my son’s house. Works just like my ecobee smart thermostat, so I was already familiar with how to wire this up. Features are un par with these smart thermostats. I don’t ever use anything other than setting night and morning routines as well as adjusting from my phone. This one works just the same. Easily connected to Alexa. I hate proprietary apps for every single appliance, but it’s an option. You can also operate it through the Smart Life app. Works as expected, so I’m extremely pleased. Sleek looking unit.

    Not compatible with out system
We live up in Alaska and, like many homes up here, we have radiated heaters instead of forced air. Because of this, our thermostats only have two wires. I got this thermostat to replace our old Nest but after plugging in everything I saw that it was not compatible with our two wire system. It looks to be a pretty neat little unit but unfortunately it isn’t good for these kinds of systems.

    Such a simple avoidable complication
I have not turned on the thermostat yet.. why? Well, they went out of their way to add a connector. BUT there is no jumper wire for RH and RC WIRING. Such a stupid avoidance. But now I have to drive to my local Home Depot (yes I know, essentially, it’s basically just paper clip) but my house isn’t simple, nor easy. A tiny piece of metal for such an easy job, that was not included. Hopefully that’s the only issue I come across. Will update. BUT if your old thermostat has a jumper wire (u shaped wire connecting from RH to RC) I suggest you go right ahead and purchase that while you’re purchasing this thermostat.

    Easy to install, works great.
I got this to replace a name brand wifi thermostat that the app has stopped working reliably. This works well with the SmartLife app, and has been reliable. I like the various features of allowing for heating and cooling automatically at the same time, however I have such a small comfort range, that I did find it running my air conditioning in the winter, and had to switch to heat only mode. That feature might be more useful for heat pump systems that handle both the heating and cooling year round, or for someone who has a much wider comfort zone in temperature. However it was easy to install, connect, and use. Much easier than our old wifi thermostat.
