Can do it all + a little more!
I’ve owned three or four label makers over the last decade. Believe it or not all the models do the same thing no matter the price. My old $30 model can do the same things as my $75 BROTHER. I had no reason to purchase another label maker, but when I laid my eyes on the retro futuristic sculpt on the Makeid:Q1 I knew I had to have it!I didn’t care what functions it had because its design was that unique, yet familiar in strange way. This thing would totally pass as a device used by a time traveler. It looks like a 60s telephone and typewriter, but the three keys turn your reason on its head. What could you possibly do with something without a screen and only three keys? Turns out quite a bit!Your phone functions as the input/graphical user interface. The labeler comes with physical instructions as well as all the modern stuff like a QR code and website. Connecting to the device takes less than ten seconds once you understand how to connect to a Bluetooth device.TALK ABOUT OPTIONS!This dandy can print QR codes, stickers, frames, images, and it has well over 40 fonts to choose from! New stuff is added on an ongoing basis. I would imagine you could figure out how to add your own if you have skills like that. The three buttons are such a cool idea. 1 is power. 2 allows you to print the current date quickly (great for dating food etc.). 3 is the CUSTOM button. This is a programmable button that allows you to set up anything that you need to print over an over like an address label etc.I recommend this cutie pie!

Purchasing tape refills could get expensive
This is the cutest little label maker! It looks like a mini typewriter and connects to an app on your phone via Bluetooth. There are three buttons on the label maker that can be used without the app: P for power, D for printing numbers or dates, and C for custom or preset words. The arm on the side (carriage return lever) serves as a manual tape cutter. All other features–such as label templates, fonts, size options, frames, borders, stickers, and logos–must be set up through the app.Included in the box are the label maker, USB-C cable, one thermal label roll (clear, peel-and-stick), an instruction booklet, and two quick reference cards for setting up the label printer and custom and date buttons. Since it comes with only one roll of labeling tape, you may need to purchase refills quite quickly, depending on how much you use the machine. The cheapest brand-name tape refill on Amazon was three rolls for $11.99 or $4 each. Each roll is only about 13 feet long, which means it may not last very long based on your usage.I plan to use the label maker this fall when my kids go back to school. I can label their binders, folders, and supplies so they can keep track of all their belongings. It’s user-friendly enough for them to handle the labeling themselves, which I am really excited about!Overall, I am happy with this product, but I can see that purchasing refill tapes could become costly. I may need to look for more affordable generic tapes that I haven’t found yet.

Cool little label maker, desk worthy
Our old label maker, one of my wife’s prized possessions, died so I went on the hunt for something she’d approve of. This is according to her “very cute and very functional”. It’s styled like a mini typewriter so not like a typical label maker since it uses an app vs a bunch of buttons. Setup was quick—just download the app, pair it via Bluetooth, and you’re good to go. It prints clear labels and even has preset buttons for quick printing without needing your phone. The included roll of transparent tape worked well, but one downside: refills at least right now are brand-specific and not cheap. For how much we use it, I’m hoping to find some more cost-effective options in the near future. Recommend!

    Almost Perfect
This little label maker is absolutely adorable! It’s shaped like a mini typewriter, which makes it a fun addition to my desk setup. It’s super easy to use and prints nice, clear labels, which is exactly what I wanted. Plus, it came with a free roll of transparent labels, so I was able to start using it right away. The label options are pretty flexible—you can choose from pre-cut sizes on a roll or use the continuous roll like the one that’s included. The continuous roll is great for custom sizes, but just a heads-up, the max label width is 16mm, which is a bit narrow, so keep that in mind for bigger labels. My only gripe is that it seems you have to use their specific brand of labels. That’s always a bit annoying, especially when you’re used to buying generic alternatives. I’m not a fan of being locked into a particular brand for consumables, but I guess that’s a common trend with gadgets like this. Still, it works well and looks cute, so I’m willing to overlook it—for now!
