Performance beast and extraordinary image quality
As an avid tech enthusiast and movie buff, the MINIX U8K-ULTRA Smart TV Box has truly exceeded my expectations. Powered by the robust Amlogic S928X-K processor, this device is a beast in terms of performance. This product boasts exceptional image qualityâutterly crisp and perfect for my at-home movie nights! In addition to allowing me to directly input the desired numbers, this remote control stands out from other products by enabling website entryâtruly a unique design. Furthermore, it boasts the capability of voice input, which significantly saves a lot of time and eliminates hassle. I must emphasize that MINIX’s customer service level is unmatched among many sellers. When I initially struggled to understand how to operate the remote control, seeking their help yielded patient and thorough guidance. If you encounter issues with using the remote control, just like I did, you can reach out to MINIX’s official email, and they will provide operational videos. You can also find the technical support email in the product’s user manual.

Kodi playing 4k 5.1 AAC
As you can see, it’s PG 1080p h264 AAC 5.1 2.4 0. 0. It plays an HD Adobe vision as mentioned and reviews on YouTube saying it won’t play anything except 2.0. as you see from the video it is playing 5.1 through my 7.14 Samsung playing beautiful, no hiccups.

Powerful
The U8K Ultra is smooth and very responsive. They picture quality on this thing will knock your socks off. And love the fact it comes with a HDMI 2.1b cable to fully enjoy the features it have. Everything you want in a box, this is it.

This is an Android OS box that has some TV type features, not an Android TV box.
This product runs Android OS, not Android TV. So be aware of that. It can do more, basically its like a phone but you connect it to your TV. So if you like tweaking your Android phone to run all sorts of stuff then this device can do that.It cannot however play 4k HDR Netflix. Or even 1080p Netflix without downloading a hacked Netflix app file and loading it yourself (hopefully that no one installed malware into). Same goes for things like Youtube or Prime Video. The developer does not want to add support for these, as this device is not intended to be a “regular Android TV box like dozens of other products already out there”. So if you are looking for a TV box to stream shows on, this is NOT it. This can do other stuff, but its target market is not to be used as an Android TV device like most people are looking for.

Depends
It served my purpose to connect a usb external hard drive and output the videos at 8k to my 8k tvâ¦However, itâs remote control is the worse remote control I have ever had to useâ¦and I currently have over 15 remote controls Iâm using in my theater roomâ¦If youâre trying to just do 4K, then there are many other options which are a lot easier to useâ¦but if youâre trying to output 8k, then this does the trickâ¦

Very disappointed with image quality
I bought it hoping to have a similar experience to my qn90b 85″ in terms of image quality and I am very disappointed that the plex movies look plain and without quality , returning tomorrow

Great box
This box is super easy to set up and very fast . I wish some of the preinstalled apps could be removed but they can be disabled . Installed Kodi , Tvimate , Smartube , Plex and Implayer . Picture quality on my Dolby Vision device is incredible . You cant go wrong with a Minix device.

I would say that this is a perfect home entertainment product from Minix! The product design, hardware configuration, outlook, connection ports as well as the accessories coming along with the package are far better than average. To be exact, MiniX U8K is far better than my expectation. The delivery from Amazon is speedy. I receive my new toy with 24 hours after I placed my order. God job Amazon UK!It is a very nice experience to unbox my MiniX U8K. It comes with not only the standard accessories, but also the AirMouse and an unexpected 8K HDMI cable, both will cost considerably if I need to buy separately. I really love the product manager of this model cause it does not simply provide the HDMI port but above all, the SPDIF optical port. This is very important to me as 4K TV is quite popular which I have one for years. But my AV amplifier support HD 1080p only. Frankly, you won’t change your AV amplifier only to upgrade the video resolution support form HD to 4K or 8K if you do not have any complaints on your AV amplifier. Given the SPDIF optical port, I can enjoy the 5.1 sound effect by simply connect the Minix U8K and my AV amp with an optical cable. Great job MiniX!The set up is very simple. It took me less than 30 minutes to get it work. The video quality is amazing. Though my TV is only a 4K one, the image from a 4K Youtube video is appealing. I believe that it should be attributable to the AI upscaling. By installing the VPN, I can enjoy the TV programme from HK. Thank Lord! I really can’t complain. You can tell the image quality from the photos I have uploaded. The last point I want to stress is that the glowing MiniX logo is so eye-catching! All in all, I love this new toy!
