Great system
12 camera system total > 8 wired 4k cameras + 4 wireless 4k cameras – Picture 4k quality is awesome , zoom around features is great . App is great along with the sound quality and notifications alerts and playback features all good . Spotlights are really bright too! For the price hope it last a good while!

Avoid night owl until the fix the app
Cameras are good but using the night owl app makes me wish I had never bought this system. If everything wasn’t installed already I would definitely return it. At home I can view it fine from a monitor I have set up with the dvr but if I try to use my phone the system disconnects when I first pull it up and then again each time I switch to different cameras. It takes anywhere from 15 seconds to 1 minute to pull up on my phone which is pointless if you get a notification and try to see what’s going on. They really need to fix this problem because it’s pointless to use the app.Update 3/7/23DO NOT BUY NIGHT OWL PRODUCTS!!!!!The app is the biggest piece of junk and is pointless. Impossible to watch any playback video without it stopping at 8 seconds. Still takes forever to pull up the cameras and it is absolutely pointless to use this system unless you are at home staring at your monitor. For most normal people who aren’t at home all day good luck trying to view anything other than live feed which like I said before, takes forever to pull up.AVOID!!!!!

Great quality product
I shopped around a bit and am very happy with my choice! It was easy to setup and I can pull up any camera on my phone anywhere with quality picture. I was surprised how good the 2 way audio was. I would definitely buy again when looking for security systems for my other properties.

Was hopeful but system was mediocre at best.
App doesn’t work on laptop. 1-2 minute lag when using phone app(defeats the purpose of having an app to monitor remotely). Views go gray often on phone app. False alarms every 2 minutes, every camera. Siren does not work. Two way communication is inaudible and causes ear piercing feed back. Customer support was responsive at first and then very hard to get a hold of to resolve the ongoing issues. Picture quality was great on the monitor connected directly to the NVR, other than that system and app are junk. Returned it.

Dissatisfied Customer
This was my second NightOwl IP camera system. The first one only lasted 2 years. The second 2.5. The live video was decent, however, the play back was not of good quality. Some of the videos were greyed out. The system broke after a firmware upgrade the pushed. After troubleshooting for almost 45 minutes via chat the customer service lady asked me to buy a new power supply, and if that didn’t work she suggested that it might be an issue with the system. She was guessing. Unfortunately, the company only offers 1 years warranty. Please reconsider buying NightOwl products.

FOR THE MONEY THEY DO WHAT THEY SAY
I HAVE INSTALLED HIGH END SURVEILLANCE EQUIPMENT IN THE PAST, AND OF COURSE THE COST WAS TWICE WHAT I SOLD THIS JOB FOR. I TELL YOU WHAT FOR AROUND 700 DOLLARS THIS DOES THE JOB. THE NIGHTOWL SYSTEM HOWEVER WAS LOOKING FOR A FIRMWARE UPDATE, WHEN THAT FAILED THE UNIT WENT INTO BOOTLOOP, I CALLED TECH SUPPORT AND THEY EXPLAINED I WOULD HAVE TO DO A MANUAL UPDATE, NOT A BIG DEAL FOR ME TO DO AND THAT FIXED THE BOOTLOOPING ISSUES. (cant leave a job like that!) TECH SUPPORT WAS AMAZING WITH NIGHTOWL THEY GET A THUMBS UP INDEED.THIS SYSTEM IS PERFECT FOR SMALL PROPERTY

It’s not perfect, but I love my wired IP 4K system
Some security systems have color at night while this Night Owl system only has black/white. I think most of it is quite good, and I recommend it in general. I care about security. LAN and WiFi based systems have less security than this “Bluetooth” system. I.e. it is possible for others to gain access to your LAN or WiFi security system. I run my system without a LAN connection whenever feasible, making it more secure.

Easy setup, great viewing distance. Live view is fine. Issue is with laggy software & memory storage is inconsistent. Recommend buy a different brand.
