DO NOT BUY IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DATA. I purchased *TWO* of these… first one I returned and asked for a replacement, this second one I’m just going to return.When I purchased the first one and hooked it up, everything seemed to be fine at first. It mounted fine and I was able to reformat it just fine.Then I started to actually use it… and started getting a lot of random file errors, so I started doing some tests. I took a 10GB file on my desktop ran an MD5sum on the file, then copied it to the JOIOT drive. No errors on the copy. Check file size – exactly the same. Then ran an MD5sum on the copied file – and got a different checksum – NOT GOOD. Copied the file back to my Desktop and ran a deep comparison and found 119 different parts of the file that didn’t match the original.For giggles, I tried it again. Copied the file again, copied it back to my Desktop. Checksums again DID NOT match – this time, 124 different parts of the file.So, I decided I had a malfunctioning unit and requested a replacement.Received my replacement today – ran similar tests and received THE SAME results. Files are NOT the same when copied to the drive.Buyer beware – do not buy. And always check your media before you store anything important on it!

Great value for the money if you don’t need more storage.
Using this unit as a live backup on a studio broadcast. The unit is quick enough to capture the live stream and like the activity light on the end. Replaced a unit costing four times as much, as did not need that much capacity. Occasionally dump the contests to a USB Thumbdrive for backup. Now have two of these for backups.

I Can Back-up Data But Can’t Create a Back-up Image
I purchased 2 of these SSDs hoping that I could back-up to them. They do create a back-up of my data but when it came to the drive image it failed on both drives each one connected to two different computers, so it isn’t the computers. I researched the the error message, I/O device error (0x8007045d), and found a Microsoft support page that described the error as a start up program being the problem. I disabled start up programs as the article described and found there weren’t any programs that were affecting the drive. I can’t find the manufacturers website for support, made in China. I called Amazon and they would replace the drive, refund, or give me courtesy credit, I took the credit and keep the drives as they did work. I have another SSD of a difference manufacturer and that drive will create an image, so I used the credit to purchase another Crucial drive from Amazon.Cables are an issue with both drive manufactures. JOIOT has a USB a to USB c and a USB c to USB a adapter, the cables are just a few inches long. I purchased 3 new 1.5 foot cables adding another 10 dollars to the cost of the drives.

I literaly use this every single day from recording my gameplay videos, or transfering my photos from my phone to my external! This is fast enough to use while editing as well! Love it!
