Great Mic
I picked up the RÃDE PodMic USB because I needed an upgrade from my bone conduction headset. It worked fine for just work calls, but I recently got into online gaming and started thinking about podcasting, so I wanted something better. This mic stood out to me because it has both XLR and USB connectivity, and I specifically needed the USB option for convenience, especially when Iâm traveling. So far, itâs been great! The USB-C connection makes it super easy to take on the road, and Iâve been using it constantly for gaming, calls, and recording. Sound quality is solid, and itâs definitely a big step up from what I was using before. The only minor downside is that it doesnât block out my dogsâ snoring in the backgroundâbut honestly, I canât blame the mic for that. They snore louder than most people, and I donât have enough soundproofing to deal with their little freight train noises.Overall, Iâm happy with this mic. Itâs versatile, easy to use, and does exactly what I need!

Great quality Mic with GREAT sound!
So iâm very new to this whole world of microphones and podcasts/streaming and such and i wanted to do it right. Started with a Tonor TC30 but quickly realized my voice sounded very flat. I moved onto the Rode xdm100 and i swear i tried my hardest to love it but the software wasnât helpful at all and no matter what i connected it to, my audio was barely audible. I had to crank up the volume during playback and it just wasnât working. After seeing and reading TONS of reviews, i was convinced that the Rode Podmic was the way to go. Finally, everything sounded absolutely perfect!! The mic is shorter than the xdm100 and way less bulky. It is literally the perfect mic for me, the key selling point is the usb c connection. I did not want to have to get an xlr connector and then pay spend more on an interface to just record my videos for my youtube. Super simple, plug and play and enjoy!!! 5 stars!!

I had high hopes but it didnât work for me
Update: Tried the xlr connection option with a Yamaha ag03 mixer. I turned the gain all the way up and the recorded audio was not audible at all, I had to amplify it A LOT in post processing to actually hear my voice, but that also amplified the noise floor which added a loud hissing sound so the audio is unusable. The ag03 preamp can provide enough gain for shure sm7b which is notorious for needing a large amount of gain, so either this mic needs even more gain than sm7b or itâs broken.Original review: This mic feels very sturdy and high quality. Itâs very heavy so a cheap mic arm probably will not work with it. The mic actually sounds pretty good and the zero latency monitoring works great. However, I had some trouble with the rode central software, which is used to adjust the gain and dsp effects. The gain is shown as 0db and I canât adjust it all all, buts I could record with an audio software which makes me confused on why the gain is 0. Iâve also tried the rode unify software which acts as a mixer, but my microphone is shown as disconnected on the software even though my laptop recognizes it as an audio input. From the reviews Iâve seen online no one had this problem, so I suspect I got a faulty product, Iâve emailed Rode customer support and Iâll be returning it if the problem canât be solved. Another downside is that the connection to iPhone canât be done with the Apple usb c to lightning cable, so you actually need to buy a specific cable from Rode in order for the connection to work.

The best $200 spent for communications peripherals!
I recently bought this mic after receiving feedback from a live streaming producer on how crappy webcam microphones are. He suggested the Rode Mini USB, but with my job responsibilities involving being in meetings for 90% of the day, i wanted to spend some more. This mic is heavy, but OMG, the difference! I find that I sound like a radio personality on my recorded meetings now. I hate to admit, but now I find myself judging people’s sound now in these meetings. This mic is AMAZING. It really is not too much, when it comes to all it offers. There are so many features to explore, but it is SUPER professional grade. I highly recommend.

Sounds great, but expensive compared to others that sound just as good
I’m a big fan of Røde products. I really wanted a decent, but reasonably priced, dynamic mic for podcasting, meetings, and training videos I create. I have some expensive condenser mics for vocals (singing), but they are big and sensitive, so I don’t like using them day-to-day for meetings and such. While I love the sound of this mic, it is SO expensive. I compared it to a lot of mics in my environment and honestly, it’s not any better than the Fifine Tank3 from every test I do. Except noise. This Røde does a much better job of noise cancelation (like tapping the mount arm).

Every once in a while you come across a product that absolutely exceeds your expectations. This RODE PodMic is one of those products. This is replacing a Blue Yeti that I could never get to work.I had some trouble getting this one to work. The world has gone to USB-c leaving me behind. Fortunately for me adapters are available. I had to try a couple of computer ports before the RODE came to life.It makes me sound better than I thought I sounded, I really like it.It pick up every squeak of my chair or any other noise I make. This is technique, my noisy habits will have to change.I was looking for a stand for my new RODE. The one that I liked is very expensive, available only after July 2025 ! It may be available sooner on Amazon.com if you were too look and didn’t mind the price. You will not be disappointed with this RODE PodMike.I highly recommend it.
