Exactly as Advertised, Small, Fast, Portable
Physical dimensions are tiny, no taller than a standard pen, as wide as two of my fingers put together. Enclosure is light, made from a hard plastic. Included cable appears to be a standard 1 foot long USB-A to USB-C cable. Actual drive size is expected, reading as 1.8 terabytes in Windows 11. CrystalDisk results posted below, connected to a USB 3.1 port directly into motherboard. Will update with any additional information/issues as I use. So far, exactly as advertised.——————————————————————————CrystalDiskMark 8.0.4 x64 (C) 2007-2021 hiyohiyo Crystal Dew World: https://crystalmark.info/——————————————————————————* MB/s = 1,000,000 bytes/s [SATA/600 = 600,000,000 bytes/s]* KB = 1000 bytes, KiB = 1024 bytes[Read] SEQ 1MiB (Q= 8, T= 1): 564.254 MB/s [ 538.1 IOPS] < 14830.53 us> SEQ 1MiB (Q= 1, T= 1): 494.511 MB/s [ 471.6 IOPS] < 2118.86 us> RND 4KiB (Q= 32, T= 1): 122.299 MB/s [ 29858.2 IOPS] < 1069.12 us> RND 4KiB (Q= 1, T= 1): 19.233 MB/s [ 4695.6 IOPS] < 212.66 us>[Write] SEQ 1MiB (Q= 8, T= 1): 501.601 MB/s [ 478.4 IOPS] < 16659.14 us> SEQ 1MiB (Q= 1, T= 1): 447.585 MB/s [ 426.9 IOPS] < 2339.82 us> RND 4KiB (Q= 32, T= 1): 103.196 MB/s [ 25194.3 IOPS] < 1265.34 us> RND 4KiB (Q= 1, T= 1): 29.733 MB/s [ 7259.0 IOPS] < 137.44 us>Profile: Default Test: 1 GiB (x5) [F: 0% (0/1863GiB)] Mode: [Admin] Time: Measure 5 sec / Interval 5 sec Date: 2023/02/09 18:28:32 OS: Windows 11 Professional [10.0 Build 22621] (x64)

Best product out there
This, to me, is by far the best external or portable SSD out there as of now. I have tried many others and they either break down on me in a short period or they are just flimsy and made of cheap materials. This product is sturdy and robust and I have dropped it many times and it keeps ticking. I am glad that SanDisk decided to make a line of external SS drives that are catered to rough and “clumsy people” like myself since I am always on the go and this item gives me the confidence that I would not lose anything data or that it would just spontaneously break down on me like some others I have had. The built is SOLD and it doesn’t feel delicate like the other external SSDs I have had. So far, I have purchased 5 of these SSDs from SanDisk (beginning 6 years ago) – and so far so good!

10/10 Recommend
The SanDisk 1TB Portable SSD has been an invaluable addition to my digital toolkit, offering blazing-fast speed, ample storage capacity, and rugged durability in a compact form factor. This SSD is perfect for users who need reliable and high-speed storage for their work, media, and gaming needs.

Works perfectly with Steam Deck!
I bought this little dude as a companion SSD for my Steam Deck, and I have no complaints at all! In my first few days of use, I’ve installed and played Red Dead 2, Borderlands 3, Forza Horizon 4, and Marvel’s Midnight Suns with absolutely no issues at all.The only issue I encountered is probably Steam Deck specific, but it does require you to fully format and wipe ALL materials off the drive prior to use, as Sandisk provides a backup folder and software with all of their drives, I believe. Not a big deal, but know that it didn’t appear to be Linux compatible, at least so far as I could tell, until everything was cleared off to change the “owner” of the drive in software, which was a super easy fix to make and didn’t impact my use case for the drive at all.

It works.
It’s an external ssd. It’s portable. Transfer speeds depends on your device. It’s quick when your device is quick. If not, then it’s not. Smaller than i was expecting. About as small as my T5 or T7 Touch. But it’s small enough that it can fit in your pocket and you’ll forget it’s there. It’s plasticky so don’t be dropping it left and right. But it’s light. And it works. What more do you need? I don’t know if it’s encryption-capable. Haven’t tried nor will i ever. It’s not going to be used for any stolen classified information. Those i keep in my spare bathroom.

Great except for initial response time.
As an SSD drive, it’s not as fast as my internal SSD drives, but it is built to last during hard travel, so I can rely on it with my backups. I love the option to use USB-C and the resistance to water; although I only once exposed it a little to rain, it survived it nicely. The only issue I have with it is the time it takes to start responding after hours of not using it… it looks like it is going internally into some kind of a sleep mode. When I called Western Digital support line (they purchased SunDisk) they told me I need to disable hard drives from sleeping on my Windows setting, however it didn’t work, so for now, the wait time to wake the device is about 10 seconds.

I swear by these!
I think that over the years I have bought maybe 10 of these at different capacities, and through different revisions. They have never, not once, let me down. Theyâre reliable, stable, fast, and very portable. I sometimes deal with large music files, and these combine the ease of use of a flash drive with capacities north of 500MB, like this 2 TB version. A spinning physical disc is more affordable per gigabyte, but I keep most of my important and frequently accessed files on these excellent solid-state drives. I also really like the look of this design.

Good Value and Fast
I have bought a lot of Western Digital external drives in the past. I got one of these and later learned that Sandisk is bigger into the solid state drive space and Western Digital bought Sandisk. I have both types, the Sandisk are a better value, and I’ve never had either to fail. I have found that my fairly powerful computer does not transfer at the rated speed, but I think it’s a limitation of bus speed or computer interface, or hub, and not the device itself. So that is to say, rated transfer at 800M/S or 1040M/S doesn’t matter if your device can only transfer at 50M/S. This brand is solid.

Me gustó por su tamaño y velocidad. Le doy cuatro estrellas porque se calienta mucho después de unos minutos de estar usándolo y porque me gustarÃa que el precio fuera un 10% más económico. Pero buena su funcionalidad y portabilidad.
