    Small, fairly rugged, very portable
Silicon Power 2TB Rugged Portable External SSD USB 3.2 Gen 2 (USB3.2) with USB-C to USB-C/USB-A Cables, Ideal for PC, Mac, Xbox and PS4, PS5 Bolt B75 ProThe 2 TB SSD comes economically packaged in a retail marked white cardboard box that is recyclable. Inside the box, the SSD is protected during shipping by a plastic blow molded case. There is also a small foldout instruction booklet and two different cables, one with USBC on both ends and one that’s USBC and USBA. The cables themselves seem very well made. It has a woven polyester jacket on the outside of the cable to help against abrasion and each of the connectors have a metal gripping jacket over the end of the cable and a hard plastic end piece to make the connection secure. Looking at the SSD itself, it’s about the size of a 3.5 in internal SSD, and has a metal case around the outside. Outside. There is one connector on the case, a female USBC for a cable to connect. Looking at the foldout instruction booklet, there’s not a lot of information in here, but it is repeated in multiple languages so it should be easy for you to read. There are no drivers needed to install this, merely plug it in and that it does come with limited guarantees, but the paper booklet does not tell you what the limited guarantee is.Plugging the hard drive into my laptop, it reads at 1.86 TB of space. ( This makes sense, because the formatting of the drive takes up a certain amount of space in itself.) The drive is negatively formatted in the exfat format , although it is possible to reformat it into ntfs if you desire.Trying a mass transfer to check on the speed, I was very pleased to see that this moved large files quite speedily. I moved a couple of movie files and it transferred at speeds close to 300 MB per second. Your mileage may vary depending on your computer and what port you plug it into.

    Best SSD for Price
I admit I was a bit skeptical at first but after using dd to write to the drive first I zeroed the drive before using it and it does slow down after 1.8TB of zeroing non-stop to the drive but it does work fairly fast as advertised. This is not a scam drive, the space is there. This is a good drive for the price, its a good backup drive for your drive images. I would buy again and may do that, hopefully they make a 8TB version. From a drive recovery perspective, this drive is good because its SATA in a aluminum case and you can take it out if the USB becomes faulty. Overall the drive can be mounted, taken out of the case and put into a docking station for cloning or imaging. So even though its larger than most drives the 2.5 inch SATA legacy form factor is the perfect size for storing in a safe location. I will buy again in the future as it has a small enough form factor. Sure its not waterproof like other rugged drives but its good for backups, if you can wait a bit longer to copy. SATA is a more rugged versatile hardware configuration in my opinion but its slower but more versatile and durable and is not prone to damage like NVME. So Silicon Power is one of the best drives made in Taiwan, I do recommend it for backups.

Pretty Damn Good Gaming And Storage Device
Originally i was going to buy a M.2 SSD around the same price range, But the location in which my 2nd slot was at was directly under the graphics card in my machine. Didnt really feel like going thru the hassle of unmounting the graphics card just to get to it at the moment, Especially since i dont have the tools at the moment. So i decided to look for external SSD and came across this one. i was skeptical at first but decided to give it at shot, And just wow. This little thing is a beast, Regardless if you’re using it for storage, Transferring files, And even gaming on it. I didnt think it could handle games as well as it could. Handles them just as well, If not better than my pre-installed internal M.2 SSD inside my rig. Can confirm after nearly 2 weeks of messing with it that it runs the latest titles amazingly well on Windows Pc. The likes of games such as Diablo 4, The latest Call Of Duty, Cyberpunk, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6, Warframe, Vampire Bloodhunt, Naraka Bladepoint, and even Tekken 8. Which ALL of these games i listed REQUIRE a SSD to run efficiently on PC. Which is why i needed it, Because my little 1TB M.2 SSD and even two 2TB HDD’s weren’t cutting it, Lol.I will say that this drive comes included with two really small cords. a type C to type C cable, And a type C to Type A cable. If you are planning on using this on a PC or laptop, DO NOT connect it via Type C to Type A if you intend to use it for gaming. Connect it with the Type C to Type C cable, Assuming that you have a Type C port on your computer. You will get the full speeds on it that way. Also, The drive DOES NOT have writing cache enabled by default. Which is why i gave it 4 stars. Not everyone will know what that is, Or how to access it. So you will want to enable that right away. Here’s the directory for that on a windows computer… Disk Management > Right-click the drive (SP B75 Pro) and select properties > Click “Hardware” Tab Above > Click “Properties” inside hardware > Click “Policies” Tab above > check box for “Enable Write Caching On The Device” > Click “OK” and close out everything. If you do the following, You will fully unlock the drive on your Pc. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I will still eventually get a 4TB M.2 SSD for my machine, And then use this drive for my gaming laptop. Until then, It will definitely hold me for a while. i have not tried this drive on my consoles, But i can definitely speak for WINDOWS Pc. If you have an available Type-C Port, And you need a good SSD to run your games on, GET THIS. You wont be disappointed.

Package arrived on schedule. The external drive is small in size and feels rugged with a sleek aluminum casing.I’ve integrated with cameras to record events. It is too early to comment on effectiveness and will update comments if there are any issues. The drive connected easily and no delay with driver installations.

Would rate it ZERO if I could! I mustve got a bad one cuz mine didnt work from first try. Loaded about 200gigs of pics n vids on it , it was NO faster than any HDD , then I couldnt pull anything up. Mostly just got the “wheel of death”! Got a few error messages , and it actually dropped out once saying it malfunctioned! I troubleshooted , unplugged , replugged , restart , etc etc etc and it never worked. Returned it the same day! Junk!

I just ordered the second one because I found the first one fast and small for a 2 TB storage space. Compared to other option, it is reasonably priced

Initially I was not sure about the brand SP Silicon Power but after watching the reviews of this SSD on youtube, I decided to purchase it. It has a well built and sturdy metallic case which makes it robust and durable. Data transfer speed is average and serves the purpose.Size is a bit less than the standard passport. Also compatible with my Android Asus ROG phone.Overall nice product from the American brand SP ( Taiwan made)
