Seems secure, can easily remove and attach compared to “pinch” or “slide” alternatives
I have 6 or 8 units of the alternative “slide” up and down product from a well known gimbal manufacturer. This SmallRig design I think is better because the lever is easier to take on and off for me. I read a review that the lever may not be strong enough but to me the lever only keeps the twist lock from rotating. It does not hold the two pieces together. What holds them together is the twist lock that seem stronger than what I have been using. I’m buying another unit and if it works out in the real world, I may replace all my others. I don’t intend to suspend my rig over people’s heads or do anything that risks my a7siii and lenses. I will just use this to move my gimbal from the included handle base to the top of a full standing tripod. And vice versa. Your use case may be different so my experience may or may not apply to yours.I ended up buying 3 sets.

Really good quick release for many different uses
This is a really nice quick release setup that I use a several different way. One is on a tripod head. Two is on the end of my strap. Three is on the proprietary plate on my gimbal. Four is on a quick release plate on a tripod head.”Wait,” you think. “A quick release mechanism on a quick release plate?” Yeah…I use Manfrotto-style plates. They are long and skinny. When attached to a ball head you don’t notice that but when you take it off to shoot hand held it’s awkward. This quick release setup leaves only a little nub underneath the camera making it hand-held-friendly.My first gimbal used Manfrotto plates making it simple to switch devices, although still awkward. The newest gimbal uses a proprietary size and style which means the plate needs to be removed every time I take the camera on or off. I solved this problem with this SmallRig quick release.I have:One QR on my strapOne on a Manfrotto plate I switch between tripodsOne on the Ronin-SC gimbal plateThe only downside to this setup is it requires a turn of more than 180° to lock it in place. I’m not sure how they determined rotating it that far was necessary…

Looks Good
I was looking forward to using this with my new Monopod and was extremely disappointed when it would not disengage (come apart) when I flipped the lever. REALLY? No amount of manipulation could make this release. NOW I get to edit this. The inner part had rotated and LOCKED in place. It was not easy to turn it, but after a few tries it simply came out. Do not know how it got rotated but it is a good feature if you want to lock it in place. NO INSTRUCTIONS earned a 4 out of 5 stars. I like the smallness of this device and it fits well on my monopod.

Great accessory for a monopod
I needed a quick release for my monopod, which only has a screw mounting. This device filled the bill nicely.

Aluminum bolt design is very weak…. don’t trust your gimbal setup to this!
I have been using gimbals for a long time. My first commercial available gimbal was a MoVi m10, current setup is a DJI RS2 with Ninja+ and Canon R5 or similar camera. All that is mounted on a monopod with a quick disconnect so the RS2 can be mounted to a variety of different setups.I liked the look and design of this quick disconnect but there is one major flaw that makes it useless and potential dangerous for gimbal work. The bolt is machined aluminum that is part of the body…. and is incredible soft. Any bolt that carries this much weight should be steel. I managed to pull this aluminum bolt out of the quick disconnect body while I was tightening it down the very first time I installed it. Can’t imagine if it was leverage out at the end of a boom over a crowd of people. This design could work great if it was revised to simply have a spot to drop in a steel 1/4-20.

Not exactly what I thought it would be.
I wanted something that would allow me to grab my camera off the tripod and go. This requires flipping a lever ( which is difficult, at best, to wedge a finger into.). Then twisting the camera about. I use my camera as a webcam and it is wired up. This âquick disconnectâ requires me to unplug the camera which is easier if it is not mounted. While mounted the wires bog down the needed twisting motion.

Very functional and well priced
I use these to rapidly attach and detach items related to a Ronin RS 2 gimbal- a carbon fiber extension rod and the DJI mini-tripod which comes with the gimbal. These really help make combining components of my gimbal rig fast and secure- helping to allow concentration on other things which are more creative and less mechanical.

Absolutely delighted with my purchase! The item arrived earlier than expected and was exactly as described. It’s clear that quality was a top priority for this product, and it shows in its performance. I’ve been using it daily and have had zero issues. Highly recommend to anyone on the fence about buying!

The zhiyun ones that are similar are good but wobble slightly, these lock on and are rock solid.

Worked fine but never felt very secure to the bottom of my gimbal, tried tightening it on my last shoot and the screw mount broke off inside my gimbalDo I spent $500 on a new or try to get the screw out (impossible)Buy something else
