Everything I needed.
This product is everything I had hoped it would be. It rescued some very important photos I had put on an external hard drive that had failed. Making the transfer was painless very easy. I will be purchasing another one very soon.

Nice size and perf
The size and performance of the device are both good. It comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable that has a built-in C to A adapter on one end, not really thrilled with that cable style and I replaced it for my uses.

Compact and Speedy Portable SSD with Cross-Platform Compatibility
The SSK 128GB SSD External Hard Drive has been a surprisingly handy addition to my tech setup. I picked it up to store and transfer files between my laptop, phone, and desktop, and it has lived up to its promise of speed and portability.Design and Build QualityThis drive is tinyâa little smaller than a business cardâand super light, making it ideal for travel or just tossing into my bag without a second thought. It has a sturdy aluminum casing that feels premium and also helps with heat dissipation.Performance and SpeedThe advertised speed of up to 550MB/s is definitely one of its selling points, and it holds up well in real-world use. In my testing, I was getting around 500MB/s on larger file transfers, which is still pretty fast for a portable SSD in this price range. There are no slowdowns with larger files, which Iâve experienced with other drives. The SLC caching (which reserves about 25% of the available capacity for fast data processing) seems to be working well. That said, itâs worth noting that actual speeds might depend on your deviceâolder USB ports wonât hit that peak performance.Compatibility and VersatilityOne thing I love about this drive is its cross-platform compatibility. Iâve been using it with my MacBook, Windows laptop, and even my Android phone. Itâs USB 3.2 Gen2, and it comes with both a USB-C cable and a USB-A adapter, so I havenât run into any connectivity issues. I also tested it with my friendâs iPhone, and it worked seamlessly with the right adapter. OTG (on-the-go) functionality is a bonus if you need to transfer files from a phone or tablet without a computer.Comparison to Similar ProductsCompared to other portable SSDs in this range, like the Samsung T5 or Sandisk Extreme, the SSK holds its own in terms of performance and build quality. Itâs a bit more budget-friendly, which is great if youâre not looking to spend extra for slightly faster speeds or additional ruggedness. The portability and cross-device support are really what make it stand out, especially for the price.Final ThoughtsIf youâre looking for a portable SSD thatâs fast, compact, and works across a variety of devices, the SSK 128GB SSD is a solid choice. Itâs not the fastest drive out there, but for everyday useâwhether itâs transferring photos, videos, or work filesâit performs reliably and gets the job done without any fuss. Given the price and overall performance, Iâd recommend it, especially if you need something lightweight for on-the-go use.

Nice Size, but Trouble with Devices Recognizing the SSK
Spouse and I aren’t complete technical nubes, but we tried multiple times, various ways and even watched a few YouTubes to try to get our phones to recognize the SSK HD. All to no avail. We tried with iPhone 11 & iPhone 16.

Portable and fast enough, time will tell on longevity.
I always need extra space to store things l, but this is the first time I picked up an SSD from a brand that I know nothing about.Andâ¦so far itâs fine! Itâs not really distinguishable from my other drives in terms of performance, except that itâs nice and portable. Itâs got a particularly nice build which I was expecting based on the photos and description: that sleek aluminum look and feel. Itâs particular great way to transfer data from my portable devices with ease.Still, itâs hard to know how great a drive is until it fails and that will hopefully take years! Hope this helps!
