This was a purchase made as a backup, but returned once as it was determined to not be needed. Would purchase again for additional storage.

Works on NVidia Shield
I bought this to extend my internal storage on an NVidia Shield. I was previously using a USB thumb drive which overheated and died – and I later learned the Shield has a habit of doing that to thumb drives. So far this works on the Shield and feels nice and snappy as an internal storage device.I will update this review if anything changes.

Beware: Breaks and no response from Verbatim
This inexpensive drive from what I THOUGHT was a reputable brand, worked just fine at first. Fast enough and had the correct capacity.Less than 60 days later, it failed out of the blue. Lights up, but will not keep a USB connection and will not show as a device on any system I plug in into.I contacted Verbatim via their website and detailed the problem. No response whatsoever. Amazon can’t help me because I’m past the return window.I’ll probably contact Verbatim again, but at this point I think I’m just out my money for a product that worked for just over 1 month.UPDATE: I opened a second ticket with Verbatim and have again received no response whatsoever. It’s been about 3 weeks since my first ticket and 1 week since my second. I’m extremely disappointed in what I thought was a well established professional company.

I use it with my macbook air to run games on it because loading a game directly into its internal SSD would mean no more room on the internal SSD.

SSD drives have come a long way. Decently priced now too. Transferred a 30 gig plus video from Mac mini in under a minute. If it lasts will be great purchase.

â¦. Reversed the USB cable and all was well. Performing its job fine now. Not sure why it matters, but it made the difference in working and not working.
