I own a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 which is a great on-the-go stabilized gimbal camera that fits in your pocket for shooting family videos, travel, pets and vlogging. I needed a solution for higher quality, stabilized video when shooting real estate walkthrough videos with my Sony A7iii DSLR. The ZHIYUN Crane 4E 3 axis gimbal should meet my needs nicely. It allows me to shoot buttery smooth professional quality video with my Sony A7iii DSLR.Things I like about the 4E:- The build quality of the 4E is top notch.- LCD touchscreen is easy to see and allows me to change gimbal parameters and select shooting modes.- 2600mAh built in battery can fast charge in just 2 hours and provides up to 12 hours of use.- Setting up the 4E with my Sony DSLR was a breeze.- There is an app available that allows you to change settings if you prefer using your smartphone instead of the touchscreen.- The powerful gimbal motors provide excellent stabilization, even with my heavier lenses.- The quick release plate allows me to quickly detach my camera when needed.- Customizable control wheel- Both horizontal and vertical shooting is supported.- The Bluetooth support provides wireless camera shutter control.- Mini tripod for stationary filming.What I don’t like:- Unlike the Zhiyun Crane 4 Combo, no storage case comes included with the 4E. This is pretty bulky and won’t fit in my Pelican camera case. I’ll need to purchase a separate carry case for it.- Lower handle not included and not listed for sale on the Zhiyun website- Accessories for the 4E can be pricey. Spending a little more for the Zhiyun Crane 4 Combo might be a better value with the included lower control arm and travel case.

Great Gimbal with Proprietary Issues
First, the bad:Connections are proprietary.Connecting the camera and already have a “universal” tripod mount? Sorry, not compatible. I had to attach the supplied mount to an Arca Plate to make it a universal mount.Want to add arms but didn’t buy the full kit? The rosette connections are ones I haven’t seen before. No one seems to make much for this gimbal beside the manufacturer. A handle and wrist rest shouldn’t cost $150, especially when I can’t use it on my other gear. Want to attach a monitor? No can do…. Not really.Now, it does accept traditionally sized screw mounts, so accessories will “fit”, but the rosette locks mean your accessories won’t properly lock in place without them.My main gimbal is the Ronin RS3 Mini, which I use because it’s small and lightweight and I prefer not to check bags for work. This is larger and heavier as expected. Some reviews I’ve seen compare it to the RS3 Pro–the issue I have with this is that there is no removable battery. Now, I’ve used the RS3 Mini for much of a day and never gone below 50% battery, so I expect that’ll be the same experience.However… the RS3 Mini is Bluetooth compatible with my Sony Cameras, so I can connect to my cameras wirelessly to start and stop recording and zoom my electronic zoom lenses. This needs to connect with a USB-C cable, which also uses the Crane as a power supply to keep the camera charged. I imagine this will significantly decrease the run-time of the gimbal while recording. I know of no way to keep it connected but bypass charging.The app for this device is decent. Like the Ronin, it’s primarily for inputting the settings that can be a pain on the small touch-screen and upgrading the firmware.Overall, it deserves the 4* review, I just wish it played nicer with all the accessories already on the market.

With it’s high end motor you can easily use it with many different types of camera and larger lens setups. J’ai essayé ce stabilisateur avec des appareils photos plus léger que ceux marqués comme compatibles, et ai obtenu de très bons résultats en réglant le couple des moteurs au minimum.Aucune critique à faire sur l’utilisation: il est facile à régler sans utiliser l’app pour smartphone grâce au petit écran tactile, et les contrôles sur l’avant de la poignée (gâchette pour changer de mode et roue assignable) sont faciles à atteindre avec l’index. Vraiment aucun point négatif au niveau de l’utilisation.Il faut par contre acheter les accessoires comme la housse de transport, la seconde poignée, ou le kit de mise au point actionné par la roue, étant donné qu’à ce prix aucun n’est fourni (dommage pour la housse !).
