Works Great
Handle 7-10 sheets no problem, if I put in a few extra it handles it. Much quieter then my old shredder. Great value. Shredded paper bin pulls out easy to dump. Great valve…

Great shredder thus far. (15-Sheet Cross Cut Paper and CD Office Shredder with Pull Out Basket new)
This review is for the 15-Sheet Cross Cut Paper and CD Office Shredder with Pull Out Basket, the updated model. And this is a real review, so rest assured. I see there are a few paid reviewers on here. What I like:All metal drive gears except for one, the first worm gear is nylon. However it has a metal gear attached to it, not a nylon gear (see pictures). This is what usually strips out and ruins a shredder, but it being metal I think it will last a long time. The motor does not have a cooling fan attached to it, to suck in dust and debris into itself. (vacuum cleaner manufacturers take note). Instead, the motor has a full metal body and a separate cooling fan pushes hot air out and clean cool air is sucked in directly onto the motor. The steel frame for the gear box is sturdy and has three fasteners holding the top of the frame, not two. There is a piece of foam that blocks debris from getting into the drive area. I did notice that the foam was not positioned exactly right, so maybe I would deduct half a star since this is a minor flaw. What I don’t like:There is nothing I don’t like about this shredder. It has a nice uni-body top, meaning there are no fitted pieces into holes on the top. It is all one solid piece. After non use, it turns itself off. One has to press the start button to activate it again. The three buttons are simple and straight forward, and I like the blue light.I have not experienced a single jam even with my testing of running 15 sheets of paper, and 16 sheets of 20 weight paper. I could tell that was it’s limit, it shredded those large test loads slower and the motor sounded to be at it’s limit. I only tested this twice. It shreds unopened envelopes, even the thick ones. It doesn’t even struggle when shredding 1 ply cardboard. I have shredded a few bad CDs and a couple of expired credit cards. The fan runs a bit longer when these are shredded. And the CDs and CCs are only chopped into 4 pieces, which is fine.I have been using it moderately since June 27, 2021. If the machine has any issues in the future I will update this review.

The shreadinator
Awesome shredder, gobbles up papers and staples without pause. Even will shred bills etc. envelopes and all. As far as noise goes its a shredder so there is some noise but nothing too loud. The bin removes easily for emptying and the shredded results are truly shredded. I was not impressed with the credit card shredding as it was not in little pieces but for the small percentage of times I need to destroy them scissors work wonders. I used this shredder a ton and it never overheated on me and only jammed once when I got carried away and tried to shred too much in one go, however the reverse gear spit it out and all was well. This is a great option for a more powerful shredder than the standard offering but still small enough to work in a home office setting or even a small commercial office setting.

Works Effectively
For the most part, this is a very adequate shredder for the money. It shreds paper well and doesn’t jam when feeding as many as 10 sheets of paper simultaneously through the shredder. It is easily maneuverable, which is a really nice feature. It is a bit more noisy than I anticipated but isn’t really annoying. By the way, I accidently tried to feed a small piece of paper through the credit card/CD slot. Trust me, that doesn’t work at all. The paper jammed in the slot and required some additional effort to retrieve it. 🙁 The main reason I only gave it 4-Stars instead of 5-Stars is because of the collection bin. The collection bin doesn’t fit quite right. The bin removal necessitates some additional maneuvering each time it is removed before it seats properly. It seems like that particular design feature isn’t quite right. But to me, it isn’t a reasonable justification to return it. Overall, it does what I want it to do–shred documents into small pieces!

Stopped working after a year
We purchased this shredder in July 2023. It is now August 2024 and the shredder has stopped working. We have used this shredder very little over the last year and now it will not power up. Not a quality product.

Works well and is very quiet
A couple of hints to keep help your machine last longer:1. Tear out personal identifiable information (PII) and only shred that. Example, when we receive mail or go through documents, most of the time, you end up with only small pieces of PII, so there really isnât much to shred. In our area, the recycling company will not accept shreds, so by only shredding small amounts, the rest (the mail and papers not having PII), can be tossed into the recycle bin and less waste that way, too.2. Shred paper often and in small quantities. We generally shred as we go through mail or other things on a pretty much daily basis. Small bits or a few single or couple of two or three pages of paper means less stress on the machine over time. Try to avoid âbig batchesâ. If you just focus on doing small jobs and make it routine to shred every day you get mail and so on, youâll find your machine will last far longer. The biggest enemy is too thick of papers, trying to shred paper clips or other metal objects, and heatâ¦sitting down and running stacks of paperwork over many minutes generates heat and will shorten the life of the unit. Thus far, we really love our new shredder. It replaced a 5 year old Aurora shredder that quit auto-feeding, due to a feed sensor going bad. We like this one, as it seems well made and keeping it in our garage, we just walk out, hit the power button to wake it up, pop in the daily stuff (runs about 30 seconds) and wall away (the unit stops automatically and goes into shut off mode after 30 minutes of being idle). Easy! I do also drizzle some oil over a piece of paper on occasion and run it through, just to help keep things working well.
