Great for laptop connectivity on the go!
I needed a laptop port replicator for providing both Ethernet and USB-A connectivity on the go. This one does a great job and at a great price! I did a speed check on the ethernet and saw crazy-fast numbers (the limit is my fiber bandwidth, not the port/ethernet card). Data transfer via thumbdrive worked well, and there were no drivers to install, of course. I briefly tried the HDMI adapter and got unusual video issues, but that’s not what I needed this port for. Besides, my laptop has an HDMI port on it, but not ethernet and not enough USB-A. I like that it also offers USB-C power so that opens up what power adapters I can use with my laptop.

Flakey with Macs
I’m the head IT person for my company and, as such, do a lot of IT related purchasing. We have tried a number of USB Docks over the years: some were good; others not so much. So in searching currently available docks, I ran across this one that Amazon kinda of co-branded.Overall ImpressionI was intrigued because it had a 10 Gbps network connection. That would allow me to make full use of my fiber connection. It also had a 4K HDMI port, good for my 4K monitors. And two high-speed USB connections. This is just enough of everything we typically need/use.I run on a MacBook Pro M3 rich in memory and disk space. When I tested it, I was running Sonoma 14.7 with Sequoia 15.0 having just come available. I never use first release of major OSes, preferring to wait until the .1 release comes along. This gives others time to find the bugs and the vendor to fix them.I plugged it into my Mac. macOS asked for permission to connect the device which I gave it. macOS was happy with the device. I plugged in my monitor’s HDMI cable; it connected right up. I plugged in my network cable; it too came right up. I plugged in my Logitech antenna for the detached KB/mouse; that worked. So far, so good.I plugged in a thumb drive and … nothing. Hmm: that’s odd. Plugged it into my Mac directly; worked like a champ. Plugged it back into the dock … nothing. Not sure of what to make of that other than 2 USB devices and only 1 of the 2 worked. Then I noticed that my 27″ 4K LG monitor would randomly turn black, just for a second or two, then would come back on. Okay: that’s weird. So I used it a bit and the monitor would turn black now and this in the middle of using it as my main/primary display. It was not like I was pushing out rapid changes such as one would do in a game. I was just using it for normal Outlook, Excel, business type activities.I took it out and plugged in another USB Dock (a Qgeem model that I had been using before) and everything worked perfectly. The monitor went back to being solidly on. My thumb drive showed up just like it should. My external KB/mouse worked like they always have.Pros:- 10G network connection- Decent assortment of ports- Reasonable price- Worked upon plugging in on my Mac (e.g. no drivers to load)Cons:- Flakey USB connections- Flakey monitor connectionRecommendation:I would avoid this particular dock, at least for now. Any USB Dock you get needs to be solid and dependable. This one is not. Amazon’s vendor that makes it may come up with an improved model sometime in the future. That’s then; this is now. There are plenty of USB Docks available. I would search for another brand.

More ports more stuff
I needed to add USB ports to my laptop, so I am using this just for that purpose. For me it works great, i have read other reviews about heat but have not noticed it. I have an external drive hooked up to it, speed is fine and no issues. I also have a lighted desk pad plugged into it. For me it was great for the price.

Update: Stopped working after 4 months.
Update: Stopped working after 4 months. It started acting finicky about a month ago and today it stopped working completely. Ports and cables on my pc work fine, this device no longer functions. Edit: I ordered the “Abiwazy” two port monitor extender, and everything works just fine.My laptop only has one display port, so I bought this. Plugs into USB-C, takes HDMI from my additional monitor and now I have a three screen set up. Not duplicate, actual individual screens. And half the price of the one I was about to order. No driver install and great performance for me.

Good price, but will not charge laptop
I connected a USB C power cable, an HDMI monitor, and a USB A wireless mouse to the dock and then connected the dock to my laptop. Mouse and monitor work fine, but it won’t push power to my laptop. The power supply charges my laptop fine when connected directly, but when the dock is in the way it won’t charge.

Iâve been using the Amazon Basics 6-in-1 Hub for a short while, and itâs a great addition to my setup. The 1Gb Ethernet port provides fast, stable internet, and the two USB-A ports are useful for connecting older devices. One of the standout features for me is the 4K HDMI output, which delivers 4K resolution at 60Hz. This makes it perfect for connecting to an external monitor, offering sharp visuals and smooth performance which is ideal for watching high-definition content or working with detailed graphics. One thing I really appreciate about this hub is that all the ports are conveniently placed on one side. This thoughtful design makes it easy to plug in and unplug devices without hassle, keeping everything neat and accessible. The 100W USB-C Power Delivery input is also a big plus, allowing me to charge my laptop while using all the other ports. Despite its robust functionality, the hub remains compact and travel-friendly, making it great for both desk setups and on-the-go use.Overall, this hub is a fantastic all-in-one solution for those who need multiple ports without sacrificing portability. Whether youâre working from home, on the go, or setting up a travel workstation, the Amazon Basics 6-in-1 Hub covers all the essentials with fast Ethernet, multiple USB-A ports, and excellent 4K at 60Hz HDMI support for smooth, crisp visuals. Plus, the 100W USB-C Power Delivery means youâll never run out of power while staying connected. If youâre looking for a reliable, easy-to-use hub that doesnât break the bank, this is a solid choice!
