Just unboxed the keyboard and itâs in perfect condition. I chose the pink and gray option which came out beautifully. It has a good quality feel.I tested all the keys and they all seem to work fine and I also love the thocky sounds of it. Both the wired and Bluetooth connections are functional and there are multiple RGB light options.It came with a manual, one Lego figure, extra switches and a keycap puller tool included.Itâs different from a usual standard keyboard since the first row of function keys is curled/slanted upwards with the brick surface layer at the top edge to stick your Lego figures on. Thereâs also a built in scroll wheel under the space bar that controls the sound volume and RGB light brightness.Overall itâs pretty unique and looks cool so Iâm satisfied ð

I love this keyboard so much that I bought two!
I bought the Wisteria and the Flamingo switch. They sound so deep and thocky. This video clip is from the Wisteria linear switch.The lilâ Lego person is just a body, head, two arms and a random weapon (sword, sai, etc.) The character doesnât make sense at all. But if you have Lego people, itâll look a lot cooler.The scroll wheel is unique

Kinda corny but fun fixer-upper
This is not a vine review. I bought two of these Brick 87s with my own money since the sale price was very reasonable and I liked the retro F-key layout; one in clear black and one in the green/white colorway.Overall impressions:The âlegoâ strip is simultaneously corny and cool. Is it official Lego? Nope. Itâs still cool. You can incorporate it into various Lego creations or just ignore it.The Keyboard:The keyboard itself is pretty good. It does NOT have a flexible polycarbonate plate â it has a firm steel plate. If you are looking for a bouncy, flexy typing experience, this ainât it. It may be gasket mounted but there is zero flex. That said, given the angled design of the keyboard pcb, it makes sense to keep it firm. As a firm typing experience, it is great and the weight keeps it from sliding around.Connectivity:Yes, it has a battery and you can select to use Bluetooth, 2.4ghz, or wired. The selector switches are very tiny and the print by them is darn near unreadable. I prefer wired every time and I do not use wireless keyboards wirelessly unless I have to. I prefer consistency over convenience. Thatâs just me. (Most of the complaints I see on wireless keyboards in reviews involve wireless not working⦠weird, huh?) At some point I will probably crack the cases open and yank the batteries.Speaking of the caseâ¦The Black Case and Keycaps (Wisteria):The black case is shiny and translucent. It has a sort of retro 1970s sci-fi vibe to it, somewhere between Star Trek and Pigs in Space. I love it.You have to keep in mind that polycarbonate cases and keycaps will have unique challenges with the way they sound that you just donât find on acrylic, pbt, or aluminum cases. More on that later.The LEDs are beautiful in this case, it is very nifty to see.The keycaps are supposedly OEM but they are slightly taller, rounded as well as cylindrical, making for a surprisingly pleasant typing experience. They donât feel like OEM keycaps, they almost feel like a shorter SA.If you know how to touch type, you will be mostly fine with the black keycaps. If you do not touch type, you will become annoyed with the green lettering that is difficult to read in dim light. In that case, I recommend searching for a pudding keycap with a visually distinct top and a darker translucent base.The main issues I encountered were the so-so stabilizers and the polycarbonate keycaps on the large keys (spacebar, enter, shifts, backspace). In order to reduce the clack, I used O-rings to keep the chatter down, and found that double O-rings on the spacebar really helped. I also swapped out a Leobog Reaper with a longer stem into the spacebar socket and that helped with reducing the clack as well by keeping the spacebar slightly higher. Dampening a clear spacebar is difficult, still working on that.The Green/White Case and Keycaps (Flamingo):The white keyboard case seems to have less acoustic issues than then the black polycarbonate case. I think it is because it is a different plastic.The green and white PBT keycaps did sound better than the black PC caps, but the keycaps seem like a very budget faux MDA. Like the black OEMs, they have a raised and circular feel to them but when I installed some proper Akko MDA caps next to them, it was apparent that these caps are not within MDA specs and rather poor. My âiâ key liked to flip off at random⦠unintentionallyâ¦. Tap the lower third just so and it would vault right off the switch.So my advice on that white keyboard in whatever colorway you prefer, is to ditch the keycaps and get some nice ones, preferably double shot PBT. Once I did that, I found that the end result sounded and felt a lot better. The spacebar sounded OK. The Flamingos lost a lot of clack and shifted to a creamier popping sound once I changed keycaps.Modding:If you search on Youtube for this keyboard under the Epomaker channel, you will find a long video done by an Epomaker employee who takes apart the keyboard. It looks like a bit of a tricky task, so best to watch the video first and go very slowly as it is all tabs that you have to release after you remove the lego bar.My next mod will be to re-lube the stabilizers.I think the keyboard is worth the sale price. I think the list price is too much because you can get a superior keyboard for less money than list. Both the Wisteria and Flamingo switches sound good in these boards. The layout is fun and eclectic.Is it perfect? Nope. The Brick 87 is a different keyboard and that is a good thing in a market full of every company trying to repackage the same designs over and over.

Short version: Amazing beginner mechanical keyboard with a wide range of customizable features from switches to keyboard effects. Bonus feature for Lego fanatics. But not very travel-friendly due to weight and sound output.Long story: This is my first mechanical keyboard with hot-swappable key switches, and I am having a blast so far. This is a heavy board, weighing in at around 5lb, which is something to keep in mind if you plan on moving around with it. But the weight is something I love about this board, it feels sturdy and substantial. I’m not a pro at any of the technical verbiage, but I got the peach lily switches and the keys are very “thocky”, it does have a slight plasticky sound not at all quiet, but for the price, I am honestly not complaining about it at all. I have done some research on the switches offered here on Amazon, and if you want those deep, creamy-sounding keys, go for the flamingo switches, it has the deepest sound out of all of them. I love the amount of customization you are offered with the RBG colors and effects, as well as the many methods of connecting to your devices, which makes this keyboard super versatile. And of course, my favorite part of all this is the customizable Lego rows at the top of the keyboard, I almost missed this feature when browsing through all the different models but I’m so glad I caught it, as a Lego fanatic I am so excited to have a “reason” to buy more lego!

Cool looks. Cool Sounds, pretty affordable, nice to type on. Overall seemed like a decent board. In the end it fell out of favor because the stabilizers on it were pretty shameful. Especially the space bar. Worked on it and gave up. So you probably should skip this board.

Ich habe noch nie eine Tastatur mit Noppenaufnahmen für Klemmbausteine gesehen, also war klar, die muss ich mir angucken. Dabei gefielen mir einige Sachen sehr gut, aber andere waren eher seltsam.Da es sich um eine Tastatur handelt sollten wir vielleicht erstmal den Part klären. Es handelt sich hier mit über einem Kilo Gewicht um eine Tastatur mit ordentlich Gewicht, was direkt etwas Qualität vermittelt. Sie ist auÃerdem sehr ordentlich verarbeitet und es gibt am Layout und den Tasten praktisch nicht auszusetzen. Des weiteren sind die Tasten (GateronYellowPro) absolut genial. Es wackelt nichts, der Sound ist fantastisch und alle Tasten sind da wo sich meines Empfindens nach hingehören. Naja, bist auf die Funktionstasten, welche in einem leichten Winkel zu den anderen stehen. Der Grund dafür erschlieÃt sich mir nicht so ganz, aber ich persönlich nutze diese nicht oft genug als dass es für mich einen Unterschied machen würde, zumal ich den Winkel auch nicht als groà störend empfinde.Design und Layout passen also, was ist mit den Extras? Zum einen fallen einem vielleicht die Räder am unteren Rand der Tastatur auf, die so positioniert sind, dass man mit den Daumen immer gut an sie rankommt. Als Fan von solchen Scrollrädern auf Tastaturen bin ich ziemlich begeistert davon, vor allem da man direkt zwei hat. Weiter gibt es Funktionstasten, mit denen man schnell Dinge erledigen kann wie zB die Medienlautstärke anzupassen und eine dedizierte Taste um das verbundene Gerät lautlos zu stellen. Nice wäre es gewesen noch mehr Median Tasten direkt zur Verfügung zu haben und es ist auch etwas unpraktisch, dass die Funktionstasten nicht entsprechend beschriftet sind, so dass man weià welche Taste was macht, aber da der Platz auf einer TKL Tastatur begrenzt war das wohl nicht wirklich drin.So weit hat man hier eine recht normale aber sehr gute mechanische RGB Tastatur. Sie sieht gut aus, fühlt sich gut an und klingt gut. Und dann ist da aber noch das “Spiel Feature”, eine doppelreihe Noppen auf die Legokompatible Steine gesteckt werden können. Warum? Wozu? Das überlasse ich jedem selbst, aber es ist in meinen Augen schon eine sehr witzige Idee. Ob man sie zur Verzierung nutzt oder um die Tastatur mit hilfreichen Dingen wie einem Stifthalter zu erweitern, es ist beinahe unmöglich von dieser Funktion nicht amüsiert zu sein.Ist diese Spielerei aber auch den stolzen Preis dieser Tastatur wert? Selbstverständlich nicht. Aber das ist auch gar nicht nötig, da sie für sich genommen schon eine sehr gute und hochwertige Tastatur ist. Wer sich nicht an den angewinkelten Tasten oder einer anderen Kleinigkeit stören lässt kann sich mit ziemlicher Sicherheit mit diesem Keyboard anfreunden. Und wenn man dann noch eine gute Verwendung für die Noppen findet hat man eine echt einzigartige Tastatur.
