Awesome little gadgets
I originally purchased one of these and tried it out on my tripod. I then realized that in order for this system to work how it is supposed to, I would need a second unit, for my Cobra 3 monopod. I’m not a professional photographer, so speed isn’t really that big of an issue for me. But boy do these little gadgets make it quick and easy to switch my tripod head (I have the Komodo KS5, which I love) between my tripod and monopod. It takes a little practice to get used to it, but once you get the mechanics down, these work great.

Great product with packaging issues?
To begin with, I order 5 of these. Two of them were an old model that did not have a bubble level on the base and had a quality control card of 2022. Two more were a 2024 quality control with the bubble level. And the last one had a bubble level, no quality control card or the bag with sticker in it. It also did not come with allen keys, but it did have the buckle on the base that they connected to. I am not sure if this is a manufacturing or seller issue.The product how ever is excellent! I order the manfroto move and leofoto quick link before buying one of the ifootage seastars. The seastars are cheaper, and a far better product. The manfroto did not have any set screws, needed a socket to tighten the receiver plate, and kept spinning loosely using a fluid head. The leafoto has set screws, however the locking mechanism didnât seem to latch well. Donât let the packaging issue change your mind. Itâs a great product and Amazon would fix an issue if you have one.

Love these seastars!
I have 3 sets of these and they are absolutely terrific. One mounted to my tripod, one on my monopod and one on my slider. The top halves are mounted to the bottoms of my two video heads and a ball-head. The amount of versatility this provides in quickly swapping heads or bases for the different jobs I am doing is fantastic. I canât say enough good things about iFootage products in general, they are really well thought out with excellent quality to boot.

I bought a couple of Footage products and decided to make it my default system so I bought some plates to add to my lenses and cameras.

Compatibility varies
I got this because Iâm deep in the peak design system. The pd plates are hit and miss in going in this. I nearly gave up when I remembered I had a pgytech plate and that works perfectly. I guess I could just throw the sliding plate from the monopod into my camera, but I want that quick release convenience.
