HIGH POWER: The SVC100 is rated at 100 Watts per channel with minimal bass roll-off. It includes front mounted adjustable jumpers to add up to eight pairs of 8 ohm speakers simultaneously.
VOLUME CONTROL: The controls allow you to adjust the volume of a pair of speakers independently of other speakers in a house audio system. They are ideal for both softer and higher volume locations.
IMPEDANCE PROTECTION: This feature of SVC100 assists in stabilizing the ohm load going back to the amp or receiver with parallel connections to avoid overheating and damaging expensive equipment by matching the impedance.
KNOB: Wire a 12-step linear rotary-style knob for a wide range of listening volumes. Includes junction box and screws as well as white, ivory and almond trim plates to match any room decor.
DESIGN: For dedicated audio zones, the décor plates install easily into a wall and work with almost any system. It accepts up to 14 gauge wiring and fits in a standard gang box with a 2.9” depth.

The resistive control deliver better sound quality
I decided to replace my previous knob volume control (based on impedance matching) after one of the amplifier’s channel of my Onkyo Receiver didn’t work anymore, and I suspect that the culprit was the inductive coupling. So I decide to replace it by this resistive type, and this one, works perfect. One of the features I like is that has full volume at one end (direct connection, no resistors), meanwhile on the other end, the last step is disconnected (fully isolation of speakers), for great control. It comes with three different colors of covers and knobs to match your taste. It was easy to install, replacement was straightforward. Inputs/outputs on the device are well labeled and the screw connectors make it fast work, connectors also can be detached from the knob control, for easier cable hookup. Product seems of excellent quality. Overall, Recommended.Review made by Handyman

What I liked1. It came with different color face plates – wasn’t a separate purchase2. The input and output wiring blocks were different colors – great aide to preventing miswire the volume control.3. it works!What I didn’t like1. the wiring blocks once installed put the wires in towards the center of the volume control pressed up against the transformer creating a 90 degree angle to get the wires to clear the cut in mud ring. This puts strain on the wires to the wiring block, as well as strain on the wiring block to the mounting pins.2. the exposed circuit board. this is potentially a serious issue if your installing in a commercial environment that have metal mud rings. Definitely not coolWhat I’m on the fence aboutThe quality of the electronics is good, the nob and potentiometer doesn’t feel like quality. But then again these aren’t Niles or Russound and come in a 1/4 of the price. You get what you pay for.

I like how the packaging came with three color options. Easy installation. Turned out, I didn’t need to replace my ceiling speakers, it was just an old plug that needed replacement.

Review for: OSD Resistor Based 150W in Wall Volume Control for Home Speakers, Rotary Knob White VKR120This is working great to balance volume between two speaker systems, office and kitchen. Easy enough to install. Be aware, if you are going to put it in a 2×4 electrical box it must be a deep box. The device is about 2-1/2 inches deep, maybe a bit more.

Great Sound, Quality Suspect
I replaced an old impedance matching volume control (transformer-based) with this resistor based unit as I did not need impedance matching for my installation. In terms of overall sound quality, I would give the unit 5 stars. The sound difference between the old transformer-based control and this resistor-based control is night and day. My outdoor high quality speakers went from sounding like a clock radio to the sound I expected. That said, in terms of build quality and quality control, I would give 1 star (hence my average of 3 stars). The unit was easy enough to connect since I was replacing another volume control. I carefully moved the connections, but only one channel worked. By gently tapping the unit, the second channel came alive. I thought perhaps I had not made a good connection when re-wiring, so I checked and re-connected. Same problem. I did it a third time. Same problem. Upon close inspection, I found that one of the resistors had a cold/incomplete solder joint at the circuit board, causing an intermittent connection and hence the intermittent dropping out. I am no stranger to the soldering iron so, rather than returning the unit, I soldered and fixed the poorly soldered connection. The second channel came alive and the unit now operates as it should. I am surprised that a unit sold as an “audiophile quality” piece would have been shipped with this problem. A quality control check would have surely identified the problem. All in all I like the unit and would buy again, but I do think the quality of the build is suspect. I hope it holds up over time because it sounds great.

My old controls had yellowed and were crackling when turned so I bought these as replacements. Very happy with the decora style and the soft touch when turning the controls. Quality seems excellent. I would buy again.

I researched many different volume control knobs offered on Amazon and decided to give this one a go! The installation was a breeze! You will need a box extender as these units are quite deep but theyâre easy to find on Amazon! When it comes to the knob itself it is very well built, thereâs no pausing in the audio when adjusting the level (as others have mentioned) and you wonât be disappointed! Note: The instructions could have been a little clearer when setting the impedance matching toggle… also, I didnât see this mentioned anywhere but the higher you set the toggle example 1/2x -> 4x -> 8x youâll notice a drop in the volume output from your speakers however that is to be expected! Overall, I was very happy with this control knob!Like the title says I ended up purchasing another one! The second one was a little temperamental at first but that was due to some wiring that needed to be replaced and due to a more powerful amplifier! I replaced some wires and reduced the volume on the amplifier and now all is awesome with this one too!

The volume control kit was delivered within a few days, works as promised with respect to the volume control and sound quality, and fits inside the rather small in-wall gang box I have in my place. I would certainly recommend this item.
